Helen B. Boorom, 94 of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 30, 2020 at the Harris Hill Nursing Facility in Lancaster, NY.

She was born December 19, 1925 in Batavia, a daughter of the late John and Katherine Mucha Mazur.

She was the wife of the late Reginald Boorom and sister of the late Mary Ann Bowen, Walter Mazur and John Mazur.

She is survived by a brother, Richard (Barbara) Mazur of Batavia. Sister, Rose (George) Sheeler of Malone and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Helen was a member of the Polish Falcons, enjoyed working at Bingo and loved to bake pecan pies and banana bread. Her laugh was infectious and everyone who knew her loved her.

Family and friends are cordially invited to share thoughts, condolences and fond memories on Friday, December 11, 2020 from 5-7 P.M. at the J. LEONARD McANDREW FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2 Bogue Ave., Batavia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Padre Pio Parish, Oakfield at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, December 12, 2020. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.

The funeral home will be limited to 33% capacity due to the Covid-19 regulations and everyone visiting must wear a face covering.

Memorial contributions may be made to the United Way of Genesee County - COVID-19 Response and Recovery Efforts. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at: www.mcandrewfuneralhomes.net.
