Batavia - Joan Pietrzykowski, 54, of Batavia, passed away on Tuesday, December 8th, 2020 from complications of COVID-19.

Joanie was born on November 14th, 1966 in Batavia, a daughter of Joseph and Dorothy Pietrzykowski, who preceded her in death as well as a sister Mary Ann (2006) and a brother John (Linda) (2020) who also preceded her in death.

Joanie is survived by siblings, Joseph, Lucy, Carol, all of Batavia and Robert (Nadine) of Katie, Texas, several nieces and nephews, a great-niece and several great-nephews, all who adored her.  As well as family, very special friends of many years include, Terry Warters, Debbie Prosser and Ken Palmer.

Joanie lived a very active and social lifestyle.  Many remember her delivering papers on Jackson Street for 19 years, which she gave up to work at the ARC sheltered work shop. She was very visible in the community, volunteering and attending ARC outings and dinner group with her many friends. Special thanks to Faith Community Chapel, where she attended faithfully.

Joanie’s smile was infectious, lighting up the lives of all her knew her. It was a privilege to be part of her life. She is loved and will be missed.
