Gerald E. Schwab

Gerald E. Schwab, 83 of Sheldon, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born at home in Sheldon, on May 20, 1937 to the late Edward (Pauline Hanley) Schwab. He is preceded in death by siblings, Norma (William) Marzolf, Herbert (Arlene) Schwab, Carl (Doris) Schwab, Leon (Cecilia) Schwab, Rosalyn (Leo) Bartz, Theresa (Al) Dominessy, granddaughter Hope Geiger, sister-in-law Wanda Schwab.   

Mr. Schwab was a 3rd generation dairy farmer; member of Upstate Milk, retired from farming in 1987 and went on to work at Darien Lake doing RV maintenance before working at and retiring from Buffalo RV. He was a life member of Sheldon Fire Department and member of WNY Gas & Steam Engine Association. Jerry Built and maintained the family “pond & getaway”, he loved spending time with his family.

Mr. Schwab is survived by his beloved wife Kathleen A. (Rautenstrauch) Schwab, children, Mark (Karen) Schwab, Nancy (Dave) Meyer, Daniel (Deanna) Schwab, AnnMarie (Douglas) Geiger; siblings, Donald Schwab, Harold (Margaret) Schwab, 9 grandchildren, 3 ½ great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on Sunday, January 10, 2021 from 1 to 4 PM at Marley Funeral Home, LLC, 135 Main Street, Attica, New York 14011. An 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 11, 2021 at St. John Neumann Parish, 991 Centerline Road, Strykersville, NY 14145. He will be laid to rest in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery, Sheldon.  

Please note the Funeral Home will be operating at 33% capacity per state guidelines. New York State requires those in attendance to adhere to the social distancing guidelines and face coverings are mandatory. Thank you for your cooperation.
