Catherine Elizabeth Doktor

  Catherine Elizabeth Doktor, 89, of Corfu, NY passed away in her home on Saturday, January 23, 2021, after a long illness.  She was born December 19, 1931 in Batavia, NY to the late Jacob and Marion (Base) Lang.  She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard (Benny), with whom she was married just shy of 67 years.  She was also predeceased by three brothers Richard, Gerald and Andrew of East Pembroke.  

She was the loving mother of Apryle (David) Carney of Irwin PA, Robin (the late Scott) Thompson of Bergen NY, Mark (Cathy) Doktor of Corfu, and Michael (Jessica) Doktor of Corfu.  She is also survived by one brother, Robert Lang of East Pembroke, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. 

Kate loved to garden and was proud of her beautiful flowers.  She enjoyed being a homemaker and loved being in the kitchen cooking and baking for her family, she made the best cabbage rolls.  She retired after 21 years as secretary at Darien Lake. She was also employed in earlier years as Program and Scheduling Coordinator for WBTA in Batavia; a job she really loved.   Kate was one of the founding members of the Cathie-Wild VFW post 9000 ladies auxiliary, and its first president.  She enjoyed playing bridge in her younger days with her girlfriends.  She was a devoted Buffalo Bills fan, and was so much fun being with during the game.  She was the best caretaker of many an ill family member, and gave of her time selflessly.  She will be deeply missed, but heaven has gained an angel.

There will be no prior calling hours. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held for the family at St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish. She will be laid to rest in the Western New York National Cemetery in Pembroke.
