Tereza E. Norgueira

Tereza E. Nogueira, 80, of Batavia, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. Tereza was born in 1940 in Salvador City, Brazil, daughter of the late Francisco (Silveria DeJesus) Nogueira. She is preceded in death by her sisters; Aida and Lucia Nogueira.

Tereza came to the United States in 1961 and has resided in Batavia since then. She worked at St. Jerome’s Hospital until she retired. Tereza enjoyed traveling, cooking and helping others.

She is survived by her sisters; Lueza (Richard) Dunn; Laurentina Rosa of Batavia; brother Edwardo (Ruth) Nogueira; niece Lorie Nogueira of Oakfield, along with family living in Brazil.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday May 5^th, 2021 from 11:00AM-12:00PM at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 329-333 West Main Street Batavia, New York 14020. A 12:00PM Funeral Service will immediately follow visitation at the Funeral Home. Tereza will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Batavia.
The funeral home will be restricted to 50% of their normal capacity. Face coverings and social distancing are mandatory. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
