He was born Monday, April 26, 1954 in Batavia, a son of the late Eldon J. Elwell and Emajean R. Berry Elwell.
A diehard fan of the New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills, he enjoyed spending time with his family and his lottery tickets
Surviving are his children; Justin (Gillian Ritzel) Elwell of Avon and Emily Jean Elwell of Buffalo; three grandchildren; Jenna Elwell, Kelsee Elwell and Kobe Vanskiver and his fourth grandson who is due in February, 2022; his brother; Douglas J. (Liz) Elwell of Laughlin, Nevada; his sister; Barbara (David) Benedict of Dansville; nieces, nephews, loving cousins many friends including his best friend of over 50 years Joe Pietrzykowski also survive.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in East Bethany Rural Cemetery. A public celebration of life for David is being planned by his family and will be announced.
