Marion E. "Betty" Wullich

Marion E. “Betty” Wullich, 90, of Batavia passed away peacefully with her son by her side on October 7, 2021 . Mrs. Wullich was a resident of the New York State Veteran’s Home at Batavia the last several years.

Mrs. Wullich was born on July 1, 1931 in Wellsville, NY to William and Marion (Senft) Whelpley.  She graduated from Wellsville High School in Wellsville. On June 29, 1954 she married Roy J. Wullich who predeceased her in 2013.

Mrs. Wullich was a telephone operator for the New York Telephone Company.  In 1982 she started working for Oliver’s Candies in Batavia where she worked for over 25 years.

Mrs. Wullich is survived by her son, Roy II of Quinton, VA; and sisters Judy (Edward) Hickman and Joyce (Donald) Mason; along with several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her sister, Beverly (Ralph) Schnell and her brothers William and Robert Whelpley.

The family wishes to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to the skilled and compassionate staff of the NYS Veteran’s Home at Batavia.

As per her request there will be no visitation hours. Internment will be at St. Joseph’s Mausoleum in Batavia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Betty’s name to your favorite charity; or to the family and sent to Roy Wullich II, P.O. Box 719, Quinton, VA 23141, for distribution to her favorite organizations.
