Frederick Huntley Dunham

Fred passed away at 93 on Monday, October 4, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.

Born January 11, 1928 in Rochester, NY son of the late Ralph & Jennie (Huntley) Dunham.

Fred is survived by his wife of 23 years, Gladys (Newcomb/Cassada) Dunham and his children, Anita (Guy) Hinkson, Allen Dunham, Doug (Cindy) Cassada and Kay (Gary) Clark, his daughter-in-law Judy (David) Dunham along with 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Predeceased by his 1st wife, Beatrice (Backus) Dunham, his son David (Judy) Dunham, his brother-in-law Burton Newcomb and his grandson Craig DeRue.

He was a Specialist 2nd Class in the US Army in Korea from 1954-1956.

Fred was an active member of the Bergen United Methodist Church, served as the Bergen Town Zoning Officer for many years as well as the Chairman on the Bergen Town Board of Appeals.  Fred was a member and Superintendent of the Mt Rest Cemetery Association and was also a registered Morgan horse breeder for many years.

Fred retired from the Sullivan Insurance Agency in Bergen NY in 1998.

He was a man of strong faith in God and dedicated to his family, church and community.

There are no prior calling hours.  Fred's Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 23 at the Bergen United Methodist Church, 27 South Lake Avenue in Bergen.  A reception will held at the conclusion of Fred's service in the fellowship hall at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bergen United Methodist Church, 27 South Lake Avenue, Bergen, NY 14416 or Homecare and Hospice, 29 Liberty Street, Suite 6, Batavia, NY 14020.
