Harold Lynn Wilt (Linnie)

Harold Lynn Wilt (Linnie), 64, died on November 18, 2021 at Unity Hospital in Rochester following a brief illness.  

Harold was born at Genesee Memorial Hospital in Batavia on August 28, 1957 to Robert and Virginia (Waterson) Wilt, and he graduated from Oakfield-Alabama Central School in 1976.

Before relocating to Norfolk, Virginia, he worked at the US Gypsum mines from 1977-1988. Well-respected for his excellent work ethic, Harold recently retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation where he had been employed for 30 years.

A dedicated family man who loved to swim and spend time at the ocean, Harold recently returned to the area because he wanted to spend more time with family and friends.  

Harold is survived by his loving wife, Barbara (Shamblin) Wilt, whom he married in Hawaii on September 17, 1994; one daughter, Mandy (Randy) Gotham and two grandsons, Joseph and Nicholas, all of Orchard Park, New York; two brothers, Robert (Debbie) Wilt of Salem, Virginia and Terry (Julie) Waterson of Oakfield, New York; two generations of nieces and nephews as well as many friends and in-laws who loved him very much.

Harold was predeceased by his parents and one sister, Karen Wilt.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday from 11 to 12 noon at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue in Oakfield, where Harold's Funeral Service will immediately follow visitation. Burial will be in St. Cecilia's Cemetery in Oakfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
