George W. Smith

George W. Smith, 79 of Batavia, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021. He was born on June 16, 1942 in Buffalo to the late Lawrence (Bernice Egger) Smith Sr.

George worked at the ARC in Batavia for many years. He was a Civil War History Buff, he enjoyed hunting, guns, tractor pulls, dancing and going to concerts with Joann and Daniel. George will be remembered as extremely funny, right up to the end.

George is survived by two siblings, Mary Rykert of Attica, Larry (Mary) Smith Jr. of Darien Center; five nieces, Joann (Daniel) Robb of Perry, Mary (Joe) Wolf of Derby, Vickie (Duane) McVay of Oakfield, Dorothy (Rhett) Richmond of Pavilion, Ronnie Rykert of Attica.

Friends are invited to call from 11:00AM to 1:00PM on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Co. Inc. 329-333 West Main Street Batavia, New York 14020. A Funeral Service will immediately follow, 1:00 PM on Monday. He will be laid to rest in Darien Cemetery.
