Josephine A. Colombo, 88 of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Sunday (December 19, 2021) at Gateway House in Attica, NY.

She was born April 5, 1933 in Batavia, a daughter of the late James and Louise Scamocca Mocciaro.

Josephine, or as she preferred to be called “Jo,” had a life full of family holidays and traditions which she enjoyed and looked forward to each year. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren swimming in the pool, having visits from them and watching them grow up. Baking, making sauce, gardening and painting were part of her creative personality which show up in her family members. Jo was always up for a laugh and had a wit and humor that could catch you off guard. She loved going for car rides to get ice cream with her husband and always asked visitors if they wanted an ice cream treat. 

She was predeceased by her son, Richard Colombo, four sisters and six brothers.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Robert Colombo of Batavia. Daughters, Barbara (late Ronald) Speed of Rochester, Janis (Brian) Palmer of Batavia and Joann (John) Baiocco of Batavia. Sisters, Nicolette Ozzimo, Carolyn Maliszewski and Anita Dziekan. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to share in a memorial service Monday (December 27th), 11:00am at the J. LEONARD McANDREW FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2 Bogue Ave., Batavia, NY.
