Mr. Jeffrey A. Houseknecht, Jr.

Batavia - Jeffrey A.  Houseknecht Jr., 42 of Batavia passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at home following a brief battle with cancer under the care of HomeCare & Hospice.

Jeff was born Thursday, April 26th, 1979 in Batavia, a son of Jeffrey A. (Cristie Lamb) Houseknecht Sr.  of Batavia and Cheryl Boryczka Valentine of Batavia. 

The co-owner with his wife Carolyn of the Houseknecht Agency in Batavia, Jeff loved history, cooking and chicken wings. A devoted husband and father, his family and friends meant everything to him. He loved watching Zach play football, basketball and baseball and his “sidekick” Lily’s sense of humor. Jeff was a diehard fan of the New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills.

Surviving along with his parents is his wife, Carolyn E. Houseknecht, whom he married on September 30, 2006; his children, Zachery T. Houseknecht and Lillian E. Houseknecht, both at home; his brother, Charles (Cameron Dussault) Houseknecht of Florida; paternal grandparents, Charles (Carol) Houseknecht of Batavia; his father and mother-in-law, Matthew (Elaine) Lane of Webster; brothers-in-law, Daniel Lane of Irondequoit and Steven (Julie Smith) Lane of Columbus, Ohio. Also surviving is Sammy, his 15-year-old Jack Russell Terrier; Jeff's childhood friends who are more like brothers; Jake Pietrzykowski, Matt Buckley, Ryan Collins, Jon D'Amico, Eric Gahagan, Josh Smith, Cameron Leight, Keith Roth and Mike Hurley; friends that he met later in life; Brian Leach and Edward Narrod; his hospice nurse Dawn Moore with whom he shared a mutual love of the New York Yankees. 

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Carol (Tom) Boryczka of Batavia. 

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, January 28th, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home, 308 East Main Street, Batavia. (Please use School Street Entrance for visitation). His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 29th, 2022 from St. Joseph's Church, 303 East Main Street, Batavia.
