Edward D. Long

Pavilion / LeRoy ~ Edward D. Long, age 66, died peacefully Tuesday morning (March 1, 2022) at Premier Genesee Center in Batavia.

   

  Ed was born October 31, 1955 in Batavia, a son of the late Merritt and Ruth Buckel Long of Stafford.

     He was retired from the Pavilion Central School District and was a life long member of the Pavilion Fire Department.

     He is survived by his son, Jason Long of LeRoy; step-sons, Jesse (Kelly) Thater of Royersford, PA and Andrew (Wendy) Thater of Pavilion, four sisters, Cheryl (John) Perry of Attica, Carol (George) Pursel of LeRoy, Jill Long of Tennessee and Nancy Castle-Scott of Tennessee; mother-in-law, Sally Schoenthal; sister-in-law, Judy Fairbanks-Sanders of Batavia, 7 grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

     Ed was predeceased by his wife of 22 years, Deborah A. (Schoenthal) Long in 2013 and his father-in-law, Edwin Schoenthal in 2020.

     Family and friends may call on Saturday, March 5 from 1 ~ 4 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Rd. (Rt. 19), LeRoy.  Services are private. 

     In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Pavilion Fire Department, P.O. Box 156, Pavilion, N.Y. 14525.
