M. Jane Hall

  M. Jane Hall, 95, of Basom went home to her Lord and Savior on Monday May 2, 2022 at Premier Genesee Nursing Home in Batavia. She was born on January 17, 1927 in Alabama, NY to the late Fred and Sarah (Warner) Gilbert. In addition to her parents, Jane is predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years; Everett Hall; son Lee Hall; siblings Earl Gilbert, Rowland Gilbert, Olive Beals and Verna Hall.

Jane was a member of the Basom United Methodist Church where she served on various committees.  She loved her church and loved her Lord.  Jane worked for several years at the Klotzbach Egg Farm until she decided to start babysitting. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, knitting and crafting years ago with her Home Bureau girls. Jane’s greatest passion however was just being a wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma.  She was loved by all and will be forever missed.

She is survived by her children; Cheryl Totten, Lynn Hall and Darlene (Gary) Anderson; 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

There will be no prior calling hours. An 11:00AM Funeral Service will be held on Saturday May 7, 2022 at the Alabama Basom United Methodist Church 1392 Church St. Alabama, NY 14013. Jane will be laid to rest in Alabama Cemetery.
