Gerard A. Cote

  Gerard A Cote, age 77, of Attica passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at the NY State Veterans Home in Batavia NY. Gerard was born on May 26, 1944 in Manchester NH to the late Arthur J and Germaine Desfosses Cote. He is predeceased by his wife Jacqueline Kingston Cote, his brother Ronald W Cote, his daughter Tasha Sergel and granddaughter Cassidy Garrow. 

He was a graduate of Manchester High School Central class of 1962. He served in the US Air Force during Vietnam from 1962 to 1966 as a jet aircraft mechanic. He earned his BS in Business Administration from the University of Lowell in Lowell MA in 1977. He retired from The Attica Correctional Facility in 2004 where he had worked for 20+ years. He had worked for Bluebird Bus Co. as a coach driver, Kollsman Instrument Co. in Merrimack NH as a Sr Engineering Planner and for Sanders Associates Inc in Nashua NH as a Material Planner. 

Gerard was a member of The American Legion Post 734 in Attica. He was also a member of the Attica Rod & Gun Club.

Gerard is survived by his children Piper (Dana) Sharick of Corfu , Melissa (Richard) Blake of NH , Sarah ( Danny) Hall of NC , Cheri Ruck of Attica, Bobby Maples of TN , Julie Maples of Attica , Thomas  (Lisa) Doucette of AR, Robin Doucette of MA and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Friends are invited to call on Monday, May 16, 2022 from 4 to 7 pm at Marley Funeral Home, LLC. 135 Main Street, Attica, NY 14011. A 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Sts. Joachim & Anne Parish, 50 East Ave, Attica, NY 14011. He will be laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery.
