Rev. Ronald A. E. Ginter

Ron Ginter, a devoted servant of Christ, departed this world April 28, 2022 and entered his eternal home surrounded by loved ones at Baptist Medical Center, Jacksonville, Fl.  He was 88.

Ron was born on October 22, 1933 to William Ginter and Bertha (Klane) Ginter in Detroit, Michigan. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Bernadine (Hinkel) Ginter of Jacksonville, Florida; brother, Leland Ginter of Clarkston, Michigan; daughter, Linda (Lynn) Eick of Batavia; sons, the late Mark Ginter of Florida, Stephen (Tonya) Ginter of North Carolina, late daughter-in-law Ronda Ginter, William (Cathy) Ginter of St. Johns, Florida; Grandchildren; Matthew, Jennifer, Daniel, David Eick, Christa (Tyler) Evans, Mariah (Matt) Horton, Arriel Campbell, Chad Ginter, Joshua Terrell, Alicia Terrell. Great Grandchildren, Edward, Maggie, Noelle, Grayson, Reese, Jordan, Jayden, Destiny, Caleb and Dillon. Devoted friends Connie Rogers, Jamie and Bella Laakman.

Ron graduated from Cass Technical High School, Detroit, Michigan. After serving his country in the US Air Force he followed his calling and received his diploma from Concordia Theological Seminary in Springfield, Illinois.

Congregations served by this faithful man of God;  Granville, Ohio, Christ Lutheran, Oil City, Pa. Luther Memorial, Blackwood, NJ, St. Paul Lutheran, Batavia, NY.

He penned Lord, I Believe, a weekly article published in the Batavia Daily News. 

After “retiring” in 1995 he continued serving as a visiting or interim minister in St. Matthew, Rochester, NY, Faith Lutheran, Elma, NY, Concordia (Hope) Brockport, NY, Trinity Lutheran, Spencerport, NY, St. John, Hamlin, NY, St. Luke, Cheektowaga, NY, First Trinity, Tonawanda, NY, St. Johns, Farmington, NY. Despite suffering a stroke while on vacation in Florida he continued to serve his Lord by preaching the Gospel. He held Bible Class and Worship Services in the Senior Living Community of Calusa Harbor, Fort Myers and Brookdale Southside, Jacksonville, Fl. up until the week he left this life. 

“The ultimate last in life is eternity in heaven, God grant us all the grace in Christ Jesus to focus on the ultimate last, the day when we hear the Good Shepherd Say: Come, O blessed of my Father, and inherit the Kingdom prepared for you.” Quote from Lord, I Believe, by Rev. Ginter.

There are no prior calling hours. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 11 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 31 Washington Avenue, Batavia, New York 14020. He will be laid to rest in Stafford Rural Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 31 Washington Ave. Batavia, NY 14020.
