Mrs. Audrey E. (Hawker) Tumminello

Batavia - Mrs. Audrey E. (Hawker) Tumminello, age 86, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Baywinde Senior Living Community in Webster.

She was born on May 7, 1936, in Alexander, a daughter of the late Arthur and Mildred Nixon Hawker.

A 1953 graduate from Alexander Central School, she retired in 1995 from the Batavia City School District as Secretary at Robert Morris Elementary School. She enjoyed sewing and made clothes and dresses for her granddaughters. She loved to read, play Bingo, traveling with her late husband, Rosario and working on puzzles. A wonderful mother and grandmother, she was very active in the lives of her grandchildren.

Her husband, Rosario S. Tumminello whom she married on June 11, 1955, passed away on October 16, 2014.

She is survived by her children, Keith (Sandra Williams) Tumminello, Paul (Kevin Dugan) Tumminello, Annemarie (David) Baldo and Marianne (Stephen) Scalise; five grandchildren, Nicholas Baldo, Abigail, Sarah, Garrett and Spencer Scalise and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her siblings, Raymond Hawker and Laverna Breckenridge.

There are no prior calling hours. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 on Saturday at St. Joseph's Church, 303 East Main Street, Batavia. She will be laid to rest in Grand View Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials in her name may be made to Crossroads House, P.O. Box 403, Batavia, New York 14021.
