Virginia was a devout parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church/Resurrection Parish. She lived her life with kindness and compassion, and her family meant everything to her. Virginia will always be remembered as a very loving and devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, and dear friend to many.

Virginia was employed by Nu-Way and Acme Markets, and later retired from Fay’s Drugs. In her spare time, she loved baking for others and was well known in the area as the "pie lady" for her delicious pies. Her carrot cake and potato salad were also the best! Virginia had an incredible talent for creating intricate crochet pieces, beautiful afghans, and doilies that she took great pleasure in gifting to her loved ones.  She also enjoyed playing bingo, spelling bees, word search puzzles, and especially her scratch-off lottery tickets.

Virginia will be sadly missed by her daughters, Patricia (John) Thayer of Fabius, NY,  Jean Boldt of Batavia, and Norma (Jack) Smith of Atlanta, GA; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and her extended "family" at Brothers of Mercy.

Virginia was predeceased by her husband, Earl (1971); son, Donald (2011); siblings, Beatrice Rice, Leo Bray Jr., Dorothy Oaks, James Bray Sr. and Clifton Bray; stepbrothers, Duane Nichols and Peter Nichols.

Virginia's family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Brothers of Mercy for the wonderful care and love that was provided to their mother and grandmother.

Family and friends may call on Friday, June 24, from 11:00 AM ~ 1:00 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake St. Rd. (Rt. 19), LeRoy, where her funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM.  Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Batavia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Resurrection Parish, 303 E. Main St., Batavia, NY 14020, or Brothers of Mercy Nursing Home, 10570 Bergtold Road, Clarence, NY 14031.
