Gloria (Greiner) Charles

Gloria (Greiner) Charles, 87, of Batavia passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Brompton Heights Assisted Living Facility in Williamsville.
Gloria was born on July 3, 1934 in Darien, the daughter of the late Arthur and Eleanor Greiner.  She is also predeceased by her brother, Robert;  Granddaughter, Amy Ramadan, and her life long friend, June Wolcott.

Gloria was a longtime School Bus Driver for Alexander Central School, were she happily retired in June 1997.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, reading, bingo, going to the theater to watch an entertaining musical, and passing time at the casino. 

She is survived by her children, Pam (Robert) Houseknecht of Batavia, Kristen Lee of Florida, Fred (Laurie) Charles of Rochester, and Steven (Patty) Charles of Attica;  grandchildren, Katie Ferguson of Henrietta, Jenna (Ben) Cossitt of Batavia, Sam Ramadan of North Carolina, Tiffany Taylor and Jamie Taylor, both of Rochester, and Nick Busch (Maria Greco) of West Seneca;  great-grandchildren, Adam and Zacheria Ramadan, both of North Carolina, and Eliana Cossitt of Batavia; sister, Bernie (Loren) White; brothers, Norm (Alma), and Donald; sister-in-law, Mary Nelson; niece, Diana Caldwell; and nephew, Joe Greiner. 

A memorial service will be held July 30, 2022 at Akron First United Methodist Church, 7 Church St, Akron, NY 14001 at 11 am followed by a coffee social in the fellowship hall.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Genesee Cancer Assistance, 127 North St. Batavia, NY 14020 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
