Richard M. Lewis

Stafford - Richard M. Lewis, 60 of Batavia, passed away on Saturday, (July 9, 2022) at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia.

Mr. Lewis was born September 1, 1961 in Batavia, a son of the late Richard H. and Elizabeth (Howe) Lewis.

Rick worked as a corrections officer at Attica Prison for over 25 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witnesses in Batavia. A avid Buffalo Bills and NY Yankees fan, Rick loved to play cards and tennis. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and could often be found at Godfrey's Pond.

Rick is survived by his wife, Cynthia (Roberts) Lewis of Stafford; son, Andrew Lewis of Stafford; step-daughter, Melissa Herrington of Syracuse; sisters, Shari Yark of Batavia and Wendy (Russell) Marchese of Batavia; nieces and nephews, Rachel (Robert) Kuszlyk, Hannah (Peter) Marchese-Beuler, Bethanie Marchese, R.J. (Christine) Marchese, and Kathryn (Andrew) Williams; a special niece, Maranda (Michael) Newton. Several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews also survive.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Lance Lewis.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, (July 15, 2022)  from 4 to 8 pm  at H.E. Turner & Co.
