Marjorie A. “Marge” Bisig, 91 of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 15, 2022 at the Grand Rehabilitation & Nursing in Batavia. She was born September 8, 1930 in Barre Center, to the late Raymond and Marion (Wigton) Vereecken. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Richard Bisig whom she married July 1, 1950; brother Raymond Vereecken, son-in-law Daryl Cook and daughter-in-law Debra Bisig.

Mrs. Bisig enjoyed thrift shopping, walking and spending time with her friends. Her family was her hobby, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving children, Suzanne Cook of Batavia, John (Barbara) of Elba, Donald Bisig of Elba, Charles (Penny) Schenck of Moravia, Shirley (Horace) Waldron Jr. of Oakfield, Linda (Richard) Smith of Basom, Richard Bisig of Batavia, sister Ellajean Gerhardt of Las Vegas, NV, 25 grandchildren, 73 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 4 to 7pm at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 329-333 West Main Street, Batavia, NY 14020. A 10:00am Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at the Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Elba.
