Mrs. Elaine E. Worthington

Batavia – Elaine E. Worthington, age 89, from Batavia, New York passed away and went to be with Jesus on August 11, 2022 at Premier Genesee Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.

She was born on January 3, 1933 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Howard and Estelle Minnemeyer Sauter.

Elaine worked at Batavia Times Publishing Co. for 15 years and at Central Tractor Farm and Family for 30 years as an office manager. She was a member of Northgate Free Methodist Church since age 5 and was a member of the church choir, Prime Timers, Adult Sunday School Teacher, served for 25 years as Christian Youth Crusaders (CYC) Leader and former church caretaker.

Her husband, Donald R. Worthington, passed away on August 8, 2007. They were married on April 7, 1951.

She is survived by her children, Wende (Robert C. Wood) of Batavia, Colleen (Randy) McIntire of Florida, Michelle (Robert G.) Wood of Batavia and Donald A. (Laura) Worthington of Pavilion (LeRoy); eight grandchildren, Lisa (Chris) Lavrey of Batavia, Jeffery McIntire of Florida, Diane (Chris) Deleo of Batavia, Eric (Caryn) Wood of Batavia, Janell Wood of Batavia, Alan (Kyrin) Worthington of East Bethany, Grace (Ben) Colopy of Perry and Hannah Worthington of Mount Morris; seven great-grandchildren, Justin and Joel Deleo of Batavia, Derek McIntire of Oakfield, Kayla McIntire of Florida, Mackenzie Lavrey of Batavia, Randy McIntire II of Oakfield and Eden Colopy of Perry along with several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her sisters, Donna Grasso and Florence Salvador.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 10 am to 12 pm at Northgate Free Methodist Church, 8160 Bank Street Road, Batavia where funeral services will immediately follow visitation at 12 pm. She will be laid to rest in Grand View Cemetery.
