He was born on January 6th, 1948 in North Hornell, a son of the late Edward Lewis and Wilma Kernan Lewis.
He proudly served his country with the United States Navy from 1968-1970. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing pool and darts. His family would like to thank the staff at the VA Medical Facility in Batavia for the excellent care their father received while he was under their care.
Surviving are his daughters, Terri Lewis of Basom and Stacey Fanton of Attica; five grandchildren, Sean (Kathleen) Vasko, Kaitlyn Johnson, Alyssa Lyons, Logan Lyons and Olivia Fanton; his sisters, Arlene Eldridge of Cameron Mills and Vicky (Jeffrey) Mullin of Batavia along with nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his sisters, Beverly Combs and Marlene Lewis.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 pm to 7 pm at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, where military honors will follow visitation. He will be laid to rest in Western New York National Cemetery in Corfu. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Western New York Heroes, 1001 East Delevan, Suite #13, Buffalo, NY 14215.
