Virginia L. Goodman “Jinny”, 77 of Batavia, passed away peacefully Tuesday (September 20, 2022) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY.

She was born July 3, 1945 in Batavia, NY, a daughter of the late Norman Thompson and Norma Bates Thompson Nixon.

Virginia was a floral designer for the former Enchanted Florist in Batavia. She enjoyed sewing, shopping, reading and traveling.

She was the sister of the late Rebecca (late Winston) Johnson

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Allen Goodman of Batavia. Daughters, Heidi (Nathan) Blowers of Alexander and Yvette (Anthony) Rood of Maryland. Grandchildren, Brennan (Tara) Blowers, Hayden Blowers, Deven (Sydney) Blowers, Tyler Rood and Noah Rood. Great-grandchildren, Ellie, Piper and Molly Blowers. Nephew, Daniel (Lauren) Johnson.

Family and friends are cordially invited to share thoughts, condolences and fond memories on Friday, October 28th from 10:30am-12pm at the Northgate Free Methodist Church, 8160 Bank Street Rd, Batavia, NY, where a memorial service will commence at 12pm. Burial will be in the Western New York National Cemetery in Corfu, NY.

Memorial contributions may be offered in her name to the Northgate Free Methodist Church, 8160 Bank Street Rd, Batavia, NY 14020.
