Mrs. Dorothy F. Allen

Elba - Dorothy F. Allen, 95, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at home surrounded by her family.

She was born Thursday, January 27th, 1927 in Barre Center, New York a daughter of the late Albert Panek and Anna Polak Panek.

Dorothy was a member of St. Padre Pio Parish - Our Lady of Fatima Worship Site where she was active in the religious education program for many years. Dorothy crocheted numerous afghans for family and friends, prayed her daily devotions and loved being surrounded by her family.

Surviving are her sons, Bernard T. (Becky) Allen,  Jr. and Terry (Kathy) Allen, both of Elba; her daughter-in-law, Sherri Allen of Wendell, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Melissa (Tony) Ridder, Matthew (Jennifer) Allen, Trisha (Michael) Heale, Elizabeth (Justin) Calarco-Smith, Christine (Nathan) Buczek and Meghan (George) Borrasca; beloved "Twonies" to thirteen great-grandchildren; her sister, Florence Rodon of Oakfield and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy is reunited in Heaven with her husband, Bernard T. Allen, Sr.; her son, Timothy Allen, her granddaughter, Heather Marie Allen, her great-grandson, Ian William Heale and her siblings, Albert Panek, Frank Panek, John Panek, Nellie Panek, Mary Sumeriski, Julia Gabriel, Anna Gloria Panek, Dr. Susan Coffey and Josephine Panek.

There are no prior visiting hours. Private services, with burial in Maple Lawn Cemetery in Elba will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends are invited to a celebration of her life on Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 1 pm to 3 pm at the Elba Fire Department Recreation Hall, 7143 Oak Orchard Road, Elba.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Padre Pio Parish, 56 Maple Avenue, Oakfield, New York 14125 or the Elba Fire Department, P.O. 58, Elba New York 14058.  Please leave a condolence, share a story, or light a candle at www.bataviafuneralhomes.com.
