Janet L. (Ward) Ivison

Janet L. (Ward) Ivison, 86, of Byron, passed away on November 30, 2022 at Strong Memorial Hospital.

Janet was born March 20, 1936, in Batavia, a daughter of the late Stanley and Gladys (Russell) Ward.

Janet was a member of the Genesee County Fair Society, South Byron Fire Auxiliary and the former South Byron United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher.  She was also a member of the Diabetes Association, Byron Historical Society, Genesee County Fish and Game Protective Association and South Byron Girls Drum Corp.  Janet was a former coach for the Byron Little League, former den mother for Pack #13 and a retired registered nurse with Genesee Memorial Hospital and the Genesee County Health Department.  She was a former secretary of the architectural committee, secretary of the home owner's association and member and committee member of the Just Us Girls organization, all in Holiday Park in North Port, Florida.

Surviving are her children, Mark Ivison of Byron, Dean Ivison of Byron, Lori Ivison of Byron and Lisa (Mark) Ellingham of Bergen; grandchildren, Jason (fiancée Erica Alcott) Ivison of Bergen and Kali Ellingham of Bergen; great-grandchildren, Gabriella, JJ and Colton Ivison and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband, Homer D. Ivison and sisters, Joyce Kaiser and Joan Dudley.

Calling hours are Sunday, December 4 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street in Batavia.  Janet's funeral will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.  She will be laid to rest in Byron Cemetery.
