Philip J. O'Geen

LeRoy ~ Philip J. O’Geen, age 85, of Franklin Avenue, passed away on Wednesday (November 30, 2022) at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia.

  He was born December 11, 1936 in LeRoy, a son of the late Joseph and Pauline Maloni O’Geen.

     Phil will be remembered as a very caring and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and dear friend to many.  He lovingly provided the care that his wife, Jo Ann needed for many years.  Phil was a proud U.S. Army Veteran and well-known businessman in the community where he and his brother carried on the family restaurant business, the Casino Restaurant.  He was also an avid golfer and bowler and set bowling records at the LeRoy Lanes.

     He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jo Ann Cotter O’Geen; his sons, Mark (Sarah) Tomaszewski and Donald O’Geen; granddaughters, Conor (Travis) Bleier, Krysta Tomaszewski, Anna O’Geen and Leah O’Geen; siblings, Frank (Rosie) O’Geen, Salvatore (Joan) O’Geen, Joseph (Donna) O’Geen and Connie Cecere, along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

     Phil was predeceased by his siblings, Palmina “Pam” O’Geen, Sarah (John) Zinni and James O’Geen.

     Family and friends may call on Sunday, Dec. 11 from 2 ~ 5 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake St. Rd. (Rt. 19), LeRoy.  His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Dec. 12 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Peter’s Church, 44 Lake St., LeRoy. Interment will be private in St. Francis Cemetery.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the LeRoy Serviceman’s Club (American Legion), 53 W. Main St., LeRoy, NY 14482
