Roy Clinton Porter, 92, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2022. He was born March 15, 1930, a son of the late James and Lutie Mae Porter.

He was predeceased by a son, Kenneth E. Porter; grandson Kevin Porter and great-grandson Kyle Michaels.

He is survived by his children, Pattie (Pat) Morietti, James E. Porter, Ellen (late David) Wood, Deborah M. Claw, Sharon (Lynn Allen Wood) Porter-Wood and Linda M. (Vincent) Maurer. Also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Roy served in the U.S. Army and retired from the bakery business after 50 years. He loved to bake and owned several bake stores where he was a professional cake decorator, his specialty at Easter time was lamb cakes and Alligator bread. He would later occasionally bake from his home. Roy enjoyed talking about his life to his children and friends, mainly because he was a people person. He would talk about the Bible and read it often, taking him back to when he was an ordained minister for several years.

He loved to sit in his sitting room, watching his birds and enjoyed feeding them and the squirrels and deer. He enjoyed sitting in his backyard and building bird houses out of old license plates. His loving pet was Coco and she was everything to him. He was happy with life and enjoyed being around his children and family.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at: www.mcandrewfuneralhomes.net.
