Louise G. Post

Louise G. Post, 91, of Elba, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022.  She is now at peace with our Savior and free from the bondage of a long journey with Alzheimer’s disease.

Louise was born April 15, 1931 in Alexander, a daughter of the late Harold and Joy (Wight) Goodman.

Louise was a charter member of the Elba Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.  She was also a member of the Elba Presbyterian Church.  Louise loved her family, Christmas time, cooking, baking, reading and canning.  After her retirement from M & T Bank, she remained active in church, auxiliary and community activities while always being available for any and all of her family.

Surviving are her husband of 72 years, Kenneth Post; children, John (Cheryl Totten) Post, Daniel (Kim) Post, Marcia (Todd) White, Janet (Judd) Ewell and Laurie (Pete) Torpey; grandchildren, Jason (Stacy) Post, Kailynn (Kyle) Stacy, Jeffrey (Janette) Post, Joy (Rich) Brewer, Holly (Shawn) Stoneham, Megan (Will) Hoffman, Brad (Nicole) White, Elizabeth (Fred) Turner, Derek (Deanna) Torpey, Chelsey (James) Vacanti and Cody (Michayla) Torpey; eighteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Irene Johncox and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her sisters, Lillian Bowen and Stella Peck; brother, Kenneth Goodman; sister-in-law, Nancy Horton and her daughter-in-law, MariJane Post.  

Calling hours are Tuesday, December 20 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street in Batavia, where Louise's funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 21 at 11:00 a.m.  She will be laid to rest in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Elba.
