Mr. Yasses was born August 1, 1948 in Batavia, a son of the late Steven and Helen (Bachulak) Yasses.
Richard enjoyed boating and fishing along with spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his matter of fact personality and sense of humor. He was generous and held a genuine love for his step children and their extended family.
Surviving are his step-children, Jamie (Adam) Frappolli of Rochester, and James Palaszynski of Batavia; grandchildren, Kyah Way, and Ada Frappolli; a sister, Rosemarie Yasses of Batavia. Two nieces, two nephews, and many cousins also survive.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley (Barones) Yasses, and brothers, Pete and Joseph Yasses.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, (January 14, 2023) from 10 to 11:00 a.m. at Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home, 308 East Main Street in Batavia (use School Street entrance), where Richard's memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Batavia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Volunteers for Animals, PO Box 1621, Batavia, New York 14021.
