David Mobley Stinson Conable Schmieder

David Mobley Stinson Conable Schmieder, 29, died on September 13, 2023 in his apartment in Rochester. 

David was a loving young man who was loved by 3 families and many friends, but he lost his struggle with mental illness and substance abuse. David was the son of Kim Reddix Mobley, and brother of Bobby Lee Mobley, and the twins Jovana C. Mobley and Alicia M. Mobley.  He also was raised in the family of the late Ruth G. Stinson, including Regina M. Stinson and Michael C. Stinson, also Aunt Onita Thomas and Aunt Charlotte Thomas, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.  At age 7, David was adopted by Bernard and Jane Schmieder of Bethany, and was the brother of James Schmieder, Mary Schmieder Cato, Tia Schmieder and Katherine Schmieder.

David grew up working on the Schmieder farm, and graduated from Alexander Central School. He went away to college in Hartford Connecticut. David loved football, and excelled at ice hockey with the Ramparts. He loved working out and weight-training. He loved hunting deer in the local woods. He got to travel to Florida and Morocco. He got to fly a small plane one day. He shook John Lewis’ hand on a trip to D.C.  He loved rap music, cool clothes, and his girlfriends.

Friends are invited to call on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 11:00AM – 12:00PM at Gilmartin Funeral Home 329-333 West Main Street Batavia, NY, 14020. A 12:00PM Funeral Service will immediately follow at the Funeral Home.
