Barbara J. VanLoan, 73 of Batavia, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Rochester General Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 7, 1950 in Murray, NY to the late Charles and Lucy Isabel (Ruger) Engert. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert VanLoan, siblings, Charles J., Walter J., Ronald J. Engert, Dianne L. Paul and Thomas J. Engert.
Barbara enjoyed anything that had to do with crafts, knitting, crocheting and sewing. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her beloved children, Christine (Harold) Ertel of Bergen, Jeffery (Kristen) Lonnen of Wyoming, step-children, Sharon (David) Hartwell, Robert (Tammy) VanLoan, Harry Lonnen Jr, Carrie (Doug) Teeter, siblings, Marilyn (George) Strabel, William J. Engert, in-laws, Katie Engert, Sheron and Jim Paul, along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
