Batavia - Richard  G.  Morrison , 79  of Batavia,  passed away on Wednesday, (January 3, 2024) at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia.

Mr Morrison was born July 11, 1944 in Batavia, a son of the late Marion (Myron) Merriman.

Dick was a member of Batavia First United Methodist Church where he was the long time organ player. He worked at SUNY Brockport in their IT department for many years. Richard was constantly busy. He was a caregiver and loved all things related to music. Richard was also very proud of the time he served in the United States Air Force.

Surviving are his sister, Carol Merriman of Batavia; nephew, Jesse Merriman of Buffalo; nieces, Heather Merriman of Buffalo, Courtney Kopper of Batavia; close friends Rev. David and Mrs. Carol Weidman of Akron, Rev. Pamela and Wesley Klotzbach of Basom, and Peter Baudanza of Batavia. Many other dear friends also survive.

Preceded in death by his brother, Dean Merriman.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, (January 12, 2024)  from 4 to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10 to 11:00 a.m. at the Batavia First United Methodist Church, 8221 Lewiston Road in Batavia, where Richard 's Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday. Burial with full military honors will be in Western New York National Cemetery in Pembroke.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Batavia First United Methodist Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
