Nancy (Long) Castle-Scott
August 7, 1961- May 11, 2024
LeRoy, New York- Etowah, Tennessee

Nancy departed this life peacefully on Saturday May 11, 2024 at her home in Etowah, Tennessee after a brief, but aggressive fight with Pancreatic Cancer.
Nancy was the daughter of Merritt and Ruth Long of Stafford, New York, the youngest of five children.  She graduated from Pavilion Central School in 1979.

After graduation, she met and married her first husband, Barry Castle (deceased) and had two children Shanna (Castle) Rose and Brent Castle.  Nancy worked at many jobs over the years, but her favorite was owning and operating Papa Johns Eagle in LeRoy New York, with her second husband Gary Scott (deceased) for nearly 20 years.  Nancy enjoyed being an active part of the local community, gardening, and entertaining friends.  Nancy and Gary entertained nearly as many friends at their home in Linwood as they did at “The Eagle” at any given time where anyone was welcome to come enjoy a meal and friendship.  Nancy moved to Tennessee upon retirement and the passing of Gary Scott to be closer to her grandchildren.

Nancy is survived by her daughter Shanna (Charlie) Rose of Etowah, Tennessee and their two children, Savannah and Jocelyn Rose; her Son, Brent Castle of Stafford, New York; Her Sisters, Jilene Long and Carol (Long) Pursel, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her Parents; her first husband, Barry Castle in 1998; her second husband, Gary Scott in 2017; her oldest sister Cheryl (Long) Perry; her brother Edward Long.

A private burial for family is planned at Machpelah Cemetery in LeRoy, followed by a Celebration of Life for family and friends to gather at Emory Park in Stafford from 2pm to 6pm on Saturday, June 8th.
