JOSEPH J. VERSAGE

   Age 80, of Batavia, died peacefully Tuesday September 8, 2015 at Strong Memorial Hospital. He was born in Mt. Morris, NY on March 24, 1935, to the late Dominic and Jennie (Sciarrino) Versage, also preceded in death by brothers, Frank R., Anthony; sister-in-law, Beverly Williams; nephews, Michael Versage and Ryan Able.

   Mr. Versage was a United States Army Veteran, an accomplished musician and a sports fanatic who enjoyed softball, soccer, and hockey. Joe was a guidance counselor for over 30 years with the Rochester City School District. A gentle soul, who will be remembered as a wonderful husband, caring father and grandfather.

   Surviving is his beloved wife, Bonnie (Sobczak) Versage of Batavia; loving children, Joseph (Stephanie) Versage of Conesus and their children, Kristen, Justin, Colin and Adrian; John (Theresa) Versage of Batavia and their children, Kara, Dylan and Mason; Stacy (Mark) Marzello of Cheektowaga and their daughter, Arianna; brother-in-law, Lawrence (Lorraine) Williams of Batavia; sister-in-law, Rebecca Versage of Watertown; nieces, Michelle Williams and Laurie Comer both of Batavia and Teal Able of Watertown; special friend, Katie Viele, who could always make Joe "smile" along with several great nieces and great nephews.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    

   The family will be present from 4-8 p.m. on Friday September 18, 2015 at the MICHAEL S. TOMASZEWSKI FUNERAL & CREMATION CHAPEL, LLC 4120 WEST MAIN STREET ROAD BATAVIA, NEW YORK 14020 where funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 19 along with full military honors.
