Joseph M. Cervone

Batavia - Joseph M. Cervone, 88, of Batavia, died Thursday (October 1, 2015) at the New York State Veteran's Home in Batavia.

Joe was born July 10, 1927 in Batavia, a son of the late Amadeo and Margaret Cervone.

He served with the United States Navy and was a nurse at the VAMC in Batavia. Joe enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, bowling, watching baseball games and boxing.  He was a member of the VFW and the former Batavia Motorcycle Club.

Survivors include his children, Danny (Kim) Cervone of Batavia, Jeffrey Cervone of Batavia and Sherry Cervone of Warsaw; two grandchildren, Danielle Cervone and Cynthia Owczarzak; a sister, Laura Bonarigo of Batavia and nieces and nephews.

He is a brother of the late Carmella Bartosiak and Dominic "Murph" Cervone.  

Calling hours are Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home, 308 East Main Street, Batavia.  Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday also at the funeral home at the conclusion of calling hours.  Burial with military honors will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Batavia.
