Douglas Lee Brown

lake_5.jpgDouglas Lee Brown, of Attica, NY passed away on October 8, 2015 at the age of 79 after a long illness.  Douglas was born on September 4, 1936 to Lyle and Etta Kidder-Brown of Alexander, NY, where he grew up and attended high school.
During their life together, Doug and Sandy lived in several places: Batavia, Attica,Florida, North Carolina, but settled back in Attica in the 1980s.  Not only did they reside in several places, Doug and Sandy loved to travel.  They travelled Europe before the 9/11 tragedy and visited every state in the country, with the exception of Washington and Oregon.  Doug was a former member of the Attica Lions Club, a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and of the Rochester Bricklayer’s Union Chapter # 3 from which he retired in the year 2000.  He had a great passion for golf and was a member of the Attica Golf Club for 48 years and experienced several golf trips with family and friends.  Doug enjoyed being outside and caring for his yard, in addition to keeping fit, as he spent many years exercising at the YMCA before his illness. Doug is survived by his wife of 57 years Sandra (Spohn) Brown; brother Charles (Kay), sister Phyllis; three children, Alan (Tina), Gregory (Katherine), and Amy (Michael) Brotherton; as well as 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. 
A Memorial Service will be held at the Trinity United Methodist Church 75 Main Street Attica, New York 14011 at 11 am on Monday October 12, 2015.
The family requests memorials are made in Doug’s name to the Attica Fire Department 11 Water Street Attica, New York 14011 or the SPCA of Attica 808 Creek Road Attica, New York 14011 and gratefully decline flowers.
