Viola A. Schuler

Elba- Viola A. Schuler, 96, died Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at the Genesee County Nursing Home, in Batavia.

Mrs. Schuler was born July 20, 1919 in Batavia, the daughter of the late William and Helen (Colby) Kirkpatrick.

She was the wife of the late Elton H. Schuler who died in 1995, mother of the late Elton Schuler and  sister of late Vivian Taber, Lucille Derck and William Kirkpatrick.

At the time of her passing Mrs. Schuler was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Elba.  She had the most continuous years of membership having joined the church in 1937.  In 1944 she and her husband were awarded a certificate of appreciation for their volunteer service with the Army Air Force aircraft warning service reserve during WWII.

Survivors include two sons; Kelly (Susan) Schuler and Scott (Susan) Schuler, both of Elba; three daughters, Kay (William) Benton of Batavia, Ann (Gary) Mattice of Avoca and Nancy  (Dennis) Scafetta of Webster;  one sister, Shirley Pashong of Batavia; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and  2 great great grandchildren.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Services will be private.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Elba, 23 North Main Street, Elba, NY 14058.  Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Elba.  Arrangements were completed by the H.
