David Joseph Zanghi, 53, of Batavia, NY, passed away on April 27, 2025, in the cardiac ICU at Strong Memorial Hospital. He passed peacefully, surrounded by family. David was born on September 13, 1971, in Lackawanna, NY, the son of Patricia Ann (Gorski) Zanghi and David Joseph Zanghi, and the grandson of Henry and Gertrude Gorski.
David graduated from Batavia High School in 1990 and went on to study history at U.T. Dallas and U.B. David married Kelley Walker on June 13, 1998, at First Presbyterian Church in Batavia, NY. They were married for twenty-one years and have three children together: Lexie, Henry, and Lindsey.
David grew up attending many concerts and Yankees games with his mom, Patty, and traveling to Florida to visit his grandparents. With his own children, he enjoyed attending sporting events, seeing movies, bowling, competing in trivia nights, and most of all - vacationing at Disney World! David’s children were his greatest pride, and he enthusiastically supported them in all their endeavors.
After many years working as a payroll specialist and serving in IT support at Paychex in both Buffalo and Rochester, David enjoyed a rewarding career as a client success manager at Next HR Solutions.
David was an avid sports enthusiast and loved playing golf. One of his proudest accomplishments was getting a hole in one on at Terry Hills Golf Course, 118 yards, on hole #3. A lifelong fan of the Yankees, Bills, Sabers, Tarheels, and thoroughbred horse racing, David enjoyed traveling to various cities with his friends and family to attend sporting events including Bills games, NBA games, Triple Crown races, the NY Open, and more. David was also a founding member of a fantasy football league that has lasted for over twenty-five years and has grown from twelve teams to a 24-team super league!
David’s smile, humor, caring, and roguish charm touched the lives of everyone he met.
Remaining to cherish David’s memory are his mother, Patty Zanghi; his children, Lexie Zanghi, Henry Zanghi, and Lindsey Zanghi; their mom, Kelley Walker Zanghi; his brother, Alex Harrell; his uncle, Charles (Susan) Gorski; his aunt Cecelia (Tony) Gorski; his cousins; his lifelong friend, Scott Hall; and many other friends and family members.
Preceding David in death are his father, David Joseph Zanghi; and his grandparents, Henry Gorski and Gertrude (Sivret) Gorski, both of whom helped raise him and were his heroes.
