Dennis W. "DZ" Ziemba

Dennis W. "DZ" Ziemba, 79 of Gainesville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 24, 2018, surrounded by his family at Select Specialty Hospital in Erie, PA. He was born September 28, 1938 to the late Walter (Estelle Paluch) Ziemba. Dennis is preceded in death by four grandchildren Jacqualine Ziemba, Sarah Nowak, Paul Pollina Jr., Alexander Pollina; son-in-law Dennis Frajdofer.

Mr. Ziemba was a United States Navy Veteran. He retired from General Motors in North Tonawanda. He was a longtime member of Perry VFW, Perry Vets Club and Lancaster Moose Lodge.  

He is survived by children Jeffrey (Darlene) Ziemba of Buffalo; Cheryl Colt of Buffalo; Paul Pollina of Atlanta, GA; Debra Frajdofer of Cheektowaga; Tracy Pollina of Buffalo; Bonnie (William) Nowak of West Seneca; Kelly (Ronald) Skierczynski of Akron; Aaron Ziemba of Akron; brother Larry Ziemba of Blasdell; 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on Sunday July 29, 2018 from 2 to 6 PM at Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, LLC. 98 North Main Street, Perry, New York 14530. An 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 30, 2018 at St. Isidore’s Parish 8 Park St. Perry, NY 14530. He will be laid to rest in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Buffalo.

KENEKHAM and BOUALY KITTISACK

KENEKHAM KITTISACK ~ Age 78, of Batavia, died peacefully Saturday July 21, 2018 at Buffalo General Hospital following a brief illness. A native of Laos, Ken  was born March 5, 1940, a son of the late Mee and Peng Kittisack.  

BOUALY KITTISACK ~ Age 74, of Batavia, died peacefully Tuesday evening July 24, 108 at Buffalo General Hospital following a brief illness. A native of Laos, Boualy was born January 12, 1944, a daughter of the late Doungphy and King Sihhrath.

Ken and Boualy are survived by their children, Pawn (Connie) Kittisack of Batavia and Patty (Vong) Khounachack of Cheektowaga along with several grandchildren.

The Kittisack family will be present from 4-8pm on Thursday July 26, 2018 at the MICHAEL S. TOMASZEWSKI FUNERAL & CREMATION CHAPEL, LLC at 4120 West Main Street Road Batavia, New York 14020 where a Hite Boune Ceremony will begin at 10am Friday July 27. Ken and Boualy's remains will be returned to their homeland of Laos.

JANE TRYKOWSKI

JANE TRYKOWSKI ~ Age 86, of Darien Center, died peacefully Monday evening July 23, 2018 at the Batavia Health Care Center. She was born in Buffalo, NY, October 16, 1932 to the late Charles and Hilda (Nagy) Guenther, also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Trykowski in 1999; grandson, Andrew Jakubowski in 2003; siblings, Charles, Donald, Jack and Thomas Guenther.

Mrs. Trykowski is survived by her loving children, Rich Trykowski of Darien Center, Lynn (late Jonathon) Jakubowski of Batavia, Joyce (William) Zipfel of Batavia, Karen (Michael) Reppucci of OH; grandchildren, Rick Trykowski, Megan (Marshall) Faron, Christopher Jakubowski, Erika (Brian) Mruczek, Courtney (Joseph) Mailot, Carissa (Brian) Bell, Caitlin Zipfel & Katie Reppucci; 10 great-grandchildren along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

As per Jane's wishes her funeral services will be held privately by the family, she will be laid to rest in Our lady of Good Counsel Cemetery in Darien Center. In lieu of flowers memorials in her memory are suggested to Crossroads House 11 Liberty Street Batavia, New York 14020.

Raymond Lee Morgan

Batavia - Raymond Lee Morgan, 47, of Batavia, lineman at Automotive Corp., Inc., in Batavia, died Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at his home, in Batavia.

Mr. Morgan was born May 2, 1971 in Fairbanks, AK, a son of Frances (Patterson) Morgan of Batavia and the late Bernard Morgan.

He was an avid fisherman and a Yankees and Raiders Fan.  He loved his family and friends and enjoyed music and writing poetry.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by 2 daughters, Faith (Charles) Slack of Appleton and Raelee Morgan of Kent; he was the grandfather of 7 grandchildren, Kadence, Bryson, Nova, Hunter, Charles, Jaxysn and Collin and brother of John Delson, Gwen Morgan, Nancy Raymond and Natalie Urbanski.

Miss Regina L. Tanner

Hornell - Regina L. Tanner, 56, of Hornell, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Elderwood at Hornell.

Miss Tanner was born October 31, 1961 in Batavia, a daughter of the late William E. and LaRue V. Paul Tanner.

Regina enjoyed reading and collecting butterflies and frogs. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, watching The Price is Right on television and loved the color green.

She is survived by her siblings; Edward M. Tanner of Oakfield, Michael A. Tanner of Hornell Milton H. (Deborah) Tanner of Bath and Teresa L. Tanner of Hornell; along with aunts, uncles and cousins.

MARY K. ROCK

MARY K. ROCK ~ Age 87, of Batavia, died peacefully Monday July 23, 2018 at Premier Genesee Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 26, 1931 in Batavia, NY a daughter of the late William and Pauline (Cooper) Wescott also preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Rock and brother, Donald Wescott. 

Mary Kay was a longtime member of Resurrection Parish (St. Joseph's) where she volunteered many years at the annual Lawn Fete and was an X-Ray Technician at the former St. Jerome's Hospital. She was a wonderful, caring, and giving mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.                                                    

Surviving are her beloved children, William (Paula) Rock of Batavia, Richard (Kathleen) Rock of Rush, Donald Rock of Oakfield, David (Lisa) Rock of TX and Virginia (James) Henning of Batavia; brother,  William (Joan) Wescott of Batavia; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Wescott of VA, Eleanor (William) Thweatt of Batavia; 12 grandchildren, Benjamin, Michael (Brittany), Kenneth (Candice), Stephanie (Matthew), Jessica (Paul), Robert, Stacie (Travis), Matthew, Emily (Jeremy), Andrew, John & Natalie; 6 great-grandchildren, Travis Jr., Joshua, Annabel, Lyric, Jermiah, Ryan, and another beautiful baby girl who will arrive this Friday along with several nieces and nephews.

  Alice J. Willard. 82, of Attica passed away on July 21, 2018 at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born on August 3, 1935 in Alden to the late Karl and Martha (Brunner) Schreiber.

In addition to her parents, Alice is predeceased by her husband Theodore J. Willard; baby daughter Allison Willard and several siblings.

She is survived by her children; Robert (Kathleen) Willard of Attica and Lesa (Leo) Stockschleader of Batavia; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Phyllis M. Bellavia

Gates - Phyllis M. Bellavia, 81, of Gates, a former employee of Stromberg-Carlson Div. of General Dynamics in Rochester, died Monday, July 23, 2018 at her home in Gates.

Miss Bellavia was born September 28, 1936 in Rochester, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Antoinette (Tarana) Bellavia.

Survivors include 2 brothers, James Bellavia of Bergen and Alphonse (Fran) Bellavia of East Rochester; a niece,  Lori Ann (Gordon) Kellogg of Bergen;3 nephews, Gregory Bellavia of Byron, Alphonse (Carol) Bellavia, Jr. of Honeoye and Marc (Maria Miller) Bellavia of OH; and a great-nephew, Adam (Brittany) Drexler of Scottsville.

There are no prior calling hours.  Friends may attend her graveside service at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 27, 2018 at Mt. Gertrude E. Jones

Gertrude E. Jones, 91 of Perry, passed away peacefully on Monday July 23, 2018, surrounded by her family at Wyoming County Nursing Facility in Warsaw. She was born April 24, 1927 to the late Samuel (Clara Z. Simmons) Gee. She is preceded in death by her husband Alvin L. Jones and several siblings.

Mrs. Jones retired from Champion Company in Perry after many years. She volunteered at the Perry Clothes Closet and was known as the “Mayor of Main Street”. Mrs. Jones was a lifetime member of Brick Presbyterian Church in Perry and volunteered there for most of her life. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who were the light of her life.

She is survived by children Walter (Norma) Gee of Perry; William (Sandra) Jones of Mulberry, FL; Dennis (Tina) Jones of Castile; 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

MICHAEL P. FIORELLA

MICHAEL P. FIORELLA ~ of Batavia, Age 66, died peacefully Friday morning July 20, 2018 at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital following a courageous battle with ALS. Mike was born February 26, 1952, the son of the late Philip and Monica (Szczesny) Fiorella, he is also predeceased by his brother, Louis Fiorella; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Fiorella and brother-in-law, John Pickert.

Mike worked for Genesee County for many years as well as working at Terry Hills Golf Course in the Pro Shop. He was an avid bowler having achieved the perfect 300 on a couple occasions and had a pretty good golf game as well.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy (Pickert) Fiorella of Batavia; brother, Philip Fiorella of Rochester; mother-in-law, Marion Pickert; step children, Colleen (Tom) Kemp and Ronnie Odessa all of Batavia; grandchildren, Carissa (Brett) Doward, Rylie Odessa and Bryce Odessa; great-grandson, Brett Doward; sisters-in-law, Chris Fiorella, Cindy McDonald, Pat Christini, JoAnn Ficarella; brother-in-law, Donald Pickert; nephews, Brian Fiorella, Mark (Julie) Fiorella, Phillip (Christine) Fiorella; nieces, Melissa Fiorella and Tammy (Dave) LaVeck along with several great nieces and nephews.

Thomas N. Hassett

LeRoy ~ Thomas N. Hassett, age 90, of Platt Avenue, passed away Friday morning (July 20, 2018) in the loving presence of his family.

     He was born June 10, 1928 in Rochester, a son of the late Thomas M. and Mary Fisher Hassett.

     Tom was a very loving and caring person, who was devoted to his family and his faith.  He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a member of Our Lady of Mercy Parish, a 25 gallon blood donor over his lifetime and an avid reader.

     He is survived by his wife, Alice Stefani; his children, Valerie (Wayne) Blaisdell of Scottsville, Christine (Douglas) Frew of NC and Neil (Elisa) Hassett of CA; step children, Marcia (Timothy) McMullen of Castile, Mark (Rita) McKeon of Rochester, John (Kathy) McKeon III of NC, Patricia Iamon of Byron, Robert (Tammy) Stefani Jr. of LeRoy, Deborah (Larry) Reeves of MN, Laura (Douglas) Platt of Byron and Allen (Cindy) Stefani of LeRoy; siblings, Gerald (Sharon) Hassett of Rochester, Robert (Patricia) Hassett of Caledonia and Marie (Robert) Sickles of FL; sisters-in-law, Joyce Hassett of CA and Carol Ann Hassett of Rochester; special nephew, Glenn (Deborah) Sickles of Scottsville; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews and dear friends.  He was predeceased by his wives, Carol Hassett and Eleanor Hassett and brothers, Paul Hassett and Edward Hassett.

Terry P. "Tuba" McQuillen

LeRoy ~ Terry P. "Tuba" McQuillen, age 62, formerly of Fredonia and Rutland, VT, passed away peacefully at home early Wednesday morning (July 18, 2018).

    

He was born August 18, 1955 in Batavia, a son of Margaret "Peg" Chambers McQuillen and the late Robert McQuillen.

     Terry was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Batavia and his work eventually took him away to Fredonia and Rutland, VT, before returning back to his home town.  He had a deep love for his family and enjoyed playing cards, golf and going to the racetrack.  He was also an avid NY Yankees fan.  Over the last 3 years as Tuba bravely battled cancer , he never once lost his wickedly funny sense of humor , his generous spirit to others, or his positive outlook on life.

     He is survived by his mother, Margaret "Peg" McQuillen of LeRoy; his siblings, Patricia (David) Daansen of LeRoy, Mary Lynn (Richard) Jacko of Pittsburgh, PA, Stephen (Sheila) McQuillen of Stafford, Peter (Judy) McQuillen of LeRoy, Timothy (Sue) McQuillen of Byron and Amy (Jeff) Sturm of Erie, PA; his children, Joseph (Becky) McQuillen of FL and Jennifer (Jerod) Richardson-Crouch of FL, and their children; good friend, Maxine Balch of Rutland, VT, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.  He was predeceased by his father, Robert in 1996.

Alex A. Neubert

  Alex A. Neubert, of Batavia died peacefully on July 21 at the age of 83.  He was born on September 1, 1934 in Batavia New York to the late William Albert and Louise (Kisella) Neubert. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary D. Neubert, his sisters Irene (Edward) Brenkus, Mary (Dominic) Mancuso, Blanche (Robert) Schrock, and Frances Neubert, and his brothers John (Mabel), Julius (Roslyn) and Frank (Gloria).

He is survived by his son, Alex Neubert (Jay Sackett) of Rochester; his in-laws Frank (Bunny) D'Aurizio, Nicholas (Robin) D'Aurizio and Anthony (Connie) D'Aurizio, and several nieces and nephews. 

After high school, Alex served honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.  Upon return home, he worked briefly for Pepsi Cola Bottling Corp. and then went to work for R. R. Gamble where, after many years on the road as a salesman for the company, he and his business partners, Frank Markwica and Gerald Tomaszewski Sr., owned and operated the business until it was sold in 1997.

He was a lifelong member of Resurrection Church (St. Joseph's) in Batavia.  He enjoyed nothing more than “being out on the course” and was a longtime member of Stafford County Club, along with numerous social clubs including the Polish Falcons and the former St. Nicolas Social Club.  In his younger days he enjoyed weeknight bowling leagues, and weekend fishing and hunting adventures with his brothers-in-law.  The Yankees were his team, through the good years and the bad.  More recently “Uncle Alex” could often be found most afternoon’s at his favorite stomping grounds enjoying time with his friends.  Anyone who knew him, knew that he loved life and lived it to the fullest. 

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday July 25, 2018 at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company Inc. 329-333 West Main Street Batavia, New York 14020.  9:00AM Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Thursday July 26th followed by a 9:30AM Mass of Christian Burial at Resurrection Parish (St. Joseph's Church) 303 East Main St., Batavia, NY 14020.  Interment with Military Honors will take place at Father Bernard Kelly Mausoleum, Batavia, where he will be laid to rest with his wife.

John F. Gebel

  John F. Gebel, 88, of North Java passed away on Thursday July 19, 2018 at Suzanne’s Comfort Care Home in Perry. He was born April 26, 1930 in North Java, NY to the late Leo J. and Catherine M (Perl) Gebel.  John is predeceased by his wife; Sharon Gebel; two sisters Evelyn (Frances) Brunner of North Java and Theresa (late Roy) George of North Java.  

He was a life-long dairy farmer in North Java with a passion for baseball and music.  

John is survived his children; David (Robin) Grover of Wilmington, NC., Kenneth Grover of Java Center and Susan Grover of Warsaw; three sisters Mary (late Nicholas) Perry of Sheldon, Ann Marie (late Robert) Dimick of Bennington and Clarine (Raymond) Meisner of Bennington; 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.

SPC ALBERT A. SWIFT USArmy (Retired) ~ Age 84, of East Bethany, died peacefully Saturday July 14, 2018 at the New York State Veterans Home @ Batavia. He was born April 17, 1934 in Maintenance, PA a son of the late Alfred and Eva (Snyder) Swift.                                                    

Surviving is his beloved wife of 31 years Bernice E. (Snyder) Swift of East Bethany; 6 children, 6 step-children; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, 3 brothers along with several nieces and nephews.
