NICHOLAS M. MRUCZEK

NICHOLAS M. MRUCZEK

   Nicholas succumbed from the injury that tragically took his life on Thursday July 16, 2015, at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, PA, surrounded by his loving family, he was only 20 years old, and attending UTI in Exton, PA where he was due to graduate in January. Born November 26, 1994, in Batavia, NY, he was the son of Patrick M. (Jeanette) Mruczek of Alexander and Dawn Hinze (Kurt) Warner of Attica. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Claudia Mancuso in January 2015.

   Nick was a 2012 graduate of Alexander Central School where he was a star athlete who participated in football, wrestling and track. He enjoyed fishing, cars and was an avid San Diego Charges fan. Nick in his 20 short years loved life and lived it to the fullest, always with a smile & grin that lit up any room he entered. He left this life leaving a final gift to those who need it most by being an organ donor.

   Surviving along with his parents are his brother, Justin (Tarah) Mruczek of Batavia; sister, Marissa Mruczek of Alexander; paternal grandfather, Fran (Fran) Mruczek of Batavia; maternal grandparents, Jim (Cathy) Hinze of Alexander; step-grandparents, Dan (Pat) Keene of Attica and Bill (Edie) Hirsch of Alexander along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

   The family will be present from 3-9 PM on Tuesday July 21 at the MICHAEL S. TOMASZEWSKI FUNERAL & CREMATION CHAPEL, LLC 4120 WEST MAIN STREET ROAD BATAVIA, NEW YORK 14020 where prayers will be recited 9:30 AM Wednesday July 22 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM Ascension Parish, corner of Swan & Sumner Sts. Darrell A. Roblee

LeRoy ~ Darrell A. Roblee, age 64, of Linwood Road, passed away suddenly on Thursday afternoon (July 16, 2015) at United Memorial Medical Center.

     He was born February 4, 1951 in Springville, N.Y., a son of the late Nelson and Ada Harrison Roblee.

     Darrell will be remembered as an extreme family man, who was devoted entirely to his family.  He adored his granddaughter, Madison.  He was a proud U.S. Vietnam veteran.  Besides his family, Darrell had a love for his Harley Davidson, rock and roll music and having coffee with his buddies at the Pok-A-Dot in Batavia.

     He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Suzanne Juliano Roblee; sons, Scott (Jennifer) Roblee of LeRoy and Jon Roblee of Elmira; granddaughter, Madison, expected granddaughter, Presley Mae; siblings, Annette Nelan of Penn Yan, Charles (Sharron) Roblee of LeRoy, Judy Roblee of Warsaw, Barbara (Thomas) Gillen of TX, and Yvonne (Michael) Moore of E. Bethany; sister in law, Diana Roblee of Batavia; mother in law, Betty Juliano of FL; sisters in law, Diane (John) Bostwick of Batavia and Peggy (Lester) Dominiak of Batavia; brothers in law, Charles (Mary Ellen) Juliano Jr. of Batavia, Michael Juliano, Todd Juliano, Edward Reeger, Terry (Paula) Reeger and Brian Reeger, all of FL, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and dear friends.

     In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Janice Roblee, Larry Roblee, Sharon (Sam) Nuciola; brother in law, Richard Nelan; mother in law, Nora Lucille Juliano and father in law, Charles Juliano Sr.

     Family and friends may call on Monday from 1 ~ 3 and 6 ~ 9 at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road (Rt. 19), LeRoy, where services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM.  Interment with military honors will follow in Machpelah Cemetery.

Thomas R. Lake

Thomas R. Lake of Attica, NY passed away on July 15, 2015 at United Memorial Medical Center. He was born April 18, 1936 in Batavia, New York to the late Frank (Genieve Magretta) Lake.

Tom was a graduate of Alexander High School. He served in the United States Army which he was honorably discharged after 3 years of service. Tom was employed at ADESA car auction in Akron, NY.  He was a member of the Attica American Legion. Tom enjoyed playing golf and landscaping.

He  is survived by his companion of 18 years Shirley Van Ostberg; son Thomas Lake of Rochester; granddaughter Eva Lake of Rochester; brother Robert Lake of Texas; sister Frances (John) King of Attica along with nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. A private service at the convenience of the family will take place at a later date.

CHARLES N. ABRAMO, SR.

Palm Bay, Fla. - Charles N. Abramo, Sr., 81, of Palm Bay, longtime resident of Basom, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Holmes Regional Medical Center, in Melbourne, Florida.

Mr. Abramo was born December 4, 1933 in Buffalo, the son of the late Angelo Abramo and Philomena Sparrazza Abramo.

A truck driver for over 40 years with Consolidated Freightways in Buffalo, he served with the Air Force. 

His wife, Patricia J. (Marchant) Abramo, passed away on June 14, 2013.

He is survived by his sons, Angelo (Nancy) Abramo of Buffalo, Charles N. (Rose Marie) Abramo, Jr. of Amherst, Donald A. (Jenni Malcomb) Abramo, Sr. of Basom, and Justin (Katy) Abramo of Elgin, Oklahoma; a daughter-in-law, Jeannie Garrett Abramo of Basom;  nine grandchildren, Shad Roy, Nicolette Wilson, Andrea Main, Charles Abramo, Jessica Henry, Ashley Abramo, Dominic Abramo and Austin and Justin; five great-grandchildren, Ethan Roy, Alexander Roy, Samantha Main and Nicholas and Mason Henry; his sister, Frances Balanco of Florida; his dear friend, Glenda Perciful and several nieces and nephews.

He is the father of the late Philomena Roy, grandfather of the late Sabrina Roy and Donald A. Abramo, Jr. and brother of the late Samuel, Tony, Angelo, Ralph, and Joseph Abramo.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home also. Ann Frances Adamczyk

Ann Frances Adamczyk, 96 of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday (July 15, 2015) at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home.

She was born November 14, 1918 in Lackawanna, NY, a daughter of the late Leo and Bertha Wrobel Wilkosz.

Ann was a pharmacy aide for St. Jerome Hospital prior to her retirement. She was a member of Ascension Parish and the Altar and Rosary Society.

She was predeceased by her husband, Henry J. Adamczyk and sister of the late Leo Wilkosz, Edward Wilkosz, Stephen Wilkosz and Helen Balonek.

Survivors include two sons, Edward (Candie) Adamczyk of Avon and Richard (Kathaleen) Adamczyk of Batavia. Daughter, Rosann (David) Panek of Churchville. Sister, Lottie (Paul) Starowicz of Batavia. Sister in-law, Susan Wilkosz of Buffalo.  Also survived by 10 grandchildren, 12  great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

JOAN E. RITZ

Batavia – Mrs. Joan E. Ritz, age 81, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Ritz was born February 15, 1934 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Ellsworth and Ella Mapes Sands.

A longtime member of Batavia Assembly of God Church, she was a member of AGLOW and was active with the AGLOW prison ministry. She was a 1951 graduate of Batavia High School and part of the committee that organized the class reunions.

Mrs. Ritz had a love of gardening and enjoyed taking trips with her family and her late husband to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Above all, she had a deep love for her family and cherished her time spent with them.

Her husband, Francis S. "Bud" Ritz, Jr., passed away on July 12, 2006.

She is survived by her children, Judith Barber of Rochester, Gene M. (Debbie) Ashe of Albion, Vicki (Pat) Gallo of Ontario, Kim (Steve) Allen of Oakfield, Catherine (David) Carlsen of Pavilion, Hailey (James) Burns of Ontario and Lancy (Michael) Frongetta of Batavia; 17 grandchildren, Kelly (Andrew) Gallup, Heather (Matthew) Falcone, Matthew (Sarah) Ashe, Jaime, Ryan (Rachana), Danielle, Ariel and Micah Gallo, Eric and Jared Allen, Cassandra and Carissa Carlsen, Nicholas and Hannah Burns, Abigail, Alec and Benjamin Frongetta; twelve great-grandchildren, Kyle, Rania, Patrick Jr., Pryanka and Rithic Gallo, Gatlin, McKenzie, Madison and Paige Ashe, Isabella and Sophia Falcone and Ava Grace Gallup; her sister, Beverly (Walt) Weatherbee of Holley and nieces and nephews.

Thomas J. “Duck” Greene, Sr.

Oakfield - Thomas J. “Duck” Greene, Sr., 72, of Oakfield, a retired Parts Manager at Allen's Inc., in Brockport, passed away Tuesday, (July 14, 2015) at the Medina Memorial Health System, in Medina.

Mr. Greene was born October 8, 1942 in Batavia, a son of the late Clarence E. and Marguerite L. (Pask) Greene.

He was an avid sports enthusiast, and enjoyed playing most sports, especially golf, horseshoes, bowling, and soft ball.  He was a very generous supporter of many youth programs throughout the area including little league, bowling and fishing.  He was extremely proud to have sent a different child to Camp Hough each year for nearly 30 years.  He also was very devoted to his family and friends.  

He is the husband of the late Suzanne (Lombardo) Greene and the late Alice Ann (Peters) Greene.

Duck is survived by his children, Tammy (Karl) Dilcher of Oakfield, Thomas (Stormie) Greene, Jr. of North Tonawanda, Timothy Greene of Oakfield, and Mark (Carrie) Greene of Lancaster; grandchildren, Melissa (Brett) Gardner of Penfield, Ashley (Parker Lantz) Dilcher of Oakfield, Derrek (fiancé Kimberly Gamble) Greene of Buffalo, Caleb and Shelbi Greene of North Tonawanda, Cortney (Travis Knowlton) Greene of LeRoy, Madison Kabel of Batavia, Jessica, Nathan, and Katelyn Greene of Lancaster; great-grandchildren, Allison, Cole, and Kyle Gardner of Penfield, and Jacob Knowlton of LeRoy; brothers, Joseph Greene of Batavia, and Jerome (Marion) Greene of Alabama; a sister, Mary Jane (late Thomas) Hartwig of Byron.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Greene is preceded in death by a son, Todd Greene, who passed away in 1969.

Friends may call on Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield.  Tom’s funeral service will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Jeffrey D. Biscaro

Olean, NY - Jeffrey D. Biscaro of 110 W. Oak St. passed away Monday (July 13, 2015) at the Gowanda Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, surrounded by his loving family. 
Born May 23, 1954 in Warsaw he was the son of Joseph Anthony and Janet O'Donnell Biscaro.
Jeffrey graduated from Letchworth Central School and soon after high school he established Biscaro Roofing Co. in Queens. He later moved to Batavia where he, along with his brother Eric, operated the Hollywood Lounge for several years. In 1985 he established First Class Exteriors in Batavia. In 1995 he moved his business to Olean and operated it until his retirement in 2013. 
He enjoyed thoroughbred horseracing and owned a few horses of his own for a while. He was always a football fanatic, loved to snowmobile and he looked forward each year to the opportunity to travel to warmer climates on vacation. Most important to him was the apple of his eye and love of his life, his daughter Jaden. 
Surviving are his mother Janet Biscaro LaWall of Bliss; his daughter Jaden (Zach Klafehn) Biscaro of Olean and his wife Katie Ripple Biscaro of Olean; 10 brothers and sisters Olga Linneborn of Sun city, AZ, Lorraine Stark of Saratoga, Joseph Biscaro of Buffalo, Primo (Alice) Biscaro of Warsaw, Yolanda Jeneski and Donna (Dennis) Workman, both of Katy, TX, Janet (Paul) Conklin of LeRoy, Eric Biscaro of Batavia, Toni Bowers of Biloxi, MS, Polly (Ken Stauffer) Biscaro of Bliss and many nieces and nephews. 
He was predeceased by his father; 1 sister Rena Pedzawater and 2 brothers Ronald Biscaro and Rex Biscaro. 
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Thursday from 5­8pm. Funeral services will be held Friday (July 17, 2015) at 10:00am in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.

Marian E. Staebell

Marian E. (Howland) Staebell of Corfu, New York passed away Sunday July 12, 2015. She was 91 years old. She was born October 31, 1923 in Batavia, New York.  She was married to the late Laverne Robert Staebell on February 26, 1943.

Marian will forever be remembered for her big heart and welcoming nature. Friends and family were drawn to her home as they were always met with a warm welcome. Marian was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Buffalo Sabres. She loved to play Rummy and Euchre and enjoyed a scratch off ticket now and again. Marian will be deeply missed by all who have had the pleasure to know her.

Together they raised 4 children; Gregory P. (Candi) Staebell of Waynesboro, Virginia, Sharon E. (Russell) Prosser of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, Stuart James (Melody) Staebell of Wilmington, North Carolina, Kathleen A. (Carl) Stone of Corfu, New York; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren, and one special grand dog.

Chester G. Kittle

Chester G. Kittle, 85, of Okeechobee, Florida passed away Thursday July 9, 2015 at the Hamrick Hospice House. Mr. Kittle was born in Linden, New York to the late Gideon (Maude Dean) Kittle. He is preceded in death by his wife Shirley (Baker) Kittle who passed away in 2013; brothers Frederick Snyder, Henry, Richard, Gordon Kittle and sister Erma Rosselle.

Mr. Kittle served our nation with 2 tours of duty in the Korean Conflict. He retired from the United States Army after serving over 20 years. He also retired from General Motors Corporation. Chester loved his family; he also enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming. His greatest love was his grandchildren. He was a family man.

Chester is survived by daughter Kathleen (Curtis) Frick of Okeechobee, FL; sister Mary Keiran; granddaughter Maria (Juan) Dusen of Okeechobee, FL; grandson Richard Kittle; great-grandchildren Adante, Simone, Shaquille Davis, C.J. Kittle, Roneika Wright, Lajuanna Ford along with 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Mary L. Duboy

Mary L. Duboy, 92, of Batavia passed away on Friday July 10, 2015 at Batavia Health Care Center. She was born October 17, 1922 in Wyoming, New York to the late Kasian (Mary Zinkevitch) Duboy. She is preceded in death by her siblings Michael Duboy, Walter Duboy, Olga McBurney, Anne Herrmann, and Helen Weber.

Mary worked for the Batavia VA Hospital for 35 years prior to retirement.

She is survived by her nieces Patricia (Jay) Overholt of Lancaster, Shirley (Fred) Humphrey of Warsaw and nephew Walter McBurney of Leroy.

Richard "Rick" W. Bell

Richard "Rick" W. Bell, 62, of Perry, died on Friday July 10, 2015 at his home.
He was born September 10, 1952 in Buffalo, New York a son of Willard Bell of Perry and the late Juanita (Ball) Bell.

Rick was a graduate of Perry High School. He was self employed for many years running his trucking and harvesting business. Rick had worked for Caledonia Diesel, and currently was working at Swede Farms in Pavilion.He was a member of the Perry Vets Club in Perry and enjoyed spending time with family.

He is survived by sons Jeffrey W. (Amie) Bell of Perry, Gary A. (Kerry Aaron) Bell of Caledonia; granddaughter Lillias “Lily” Bell ; sister Diane (Michael) Dee of Colorado Springs, CO.; brothers David (Dianne) Bell of Beaver Dam, WI., Gerald (Marcia) Bell of Perry, along with many nieces and nephews.

Violet M. Panek

Violet M. Panek, 95, of Elba, NY passed away peacefully on Thursday (July 09, 2015) at LeRoy Village Green.

She was born in Buffalo, NY on July 17, 1919, daughter of the late Valentine and Agnes Swatek Wiater, sister of the late Stanley, John and Walter Wiater, Harriet Rogowski, Sister Mary Ignatia CSSF and Mary Starowicz. She was the wife of the late Albert Panek, who died in 1991.

Violet was a lifelong member of Ascension Parish (Sacred Heart Church) and a member of the Sacred Heart Altar and Rosary Society. Violet and her husband devoted many hours to the church and worked for many years at the parish picnic.

Known for her culinary skills, Violet worked as a chef at The Country Kitchen Restaurant, Terry Hills Golf Course and shared a catering business with her sister, Harriet.

Violet enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, sewing, crafting and painting ceramics.

Survivors include her children Marie (late Donald) Butts of Batavia, NY, David (Rosann) Panek of Churchville, NY, Susan (Roger) Gronert of Flagler Beach, Fl, and Ronald (Mary Alice) Panek of LeRoy, NY.  Violet is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Yvonne P. Eschenlauer, 80, of East Bethany died Tuesday July 7, 2015 at the Genesee County Nursing Home. She was born March 30, 1935 in Revlock, PA to the late John and Bertha Mulvihill. She enjoyed reading romance books, doing crossword puzzles and watching Dancing with the Stars.

She is survived by 2 daughters; Dawn Yarington of East Bethany and Robin Eschenlauer of Oakfield, 3 sons; Robert Eschenlauer of Batavia, Ronald Eschenlauer of West Sparta and Donald Eschenlauer of Florida, 4 sisters; Leonna Bernosky of Williamsville, Freida Gronberg of NC, Donna Kozerski of Cheektowaga and Cheryl Black of Michigan, 3 brothers; Eugene Mulvihill of Cheektowaga, Clayton Mulvihill of NC and Richard Mulvihill of Angola; 17 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

There will be no prior calling hours. Friends and family are invited to attend a 10:30AM Memorial Mass on Tuesday July 14, 2105 at St. Vincent’s Church, 50 East Ave. in Attica NY 14011.

RONALD E. BOYD

Ronald E. Boyd, 85 of Batavia passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the New York State Veterans Home in Batavia. During his short stay at the Veteran’s home he received and was treated with respect, compassion, and dignity, which was much appreciated by his family.

He was born February 16, 1930 in Warsaw, New York, the son of the late Walter and Lena Knight Boyd.

Mr. Boyd was a lifelong Batavia resident, who served in the US Army and fought in the Korean War. He and his brother-in-law, Walter Briggs owned and operated Adelman’s Electric in Batavia for many years. He then worked at Graham Corporation in Batavia.

Ron loved his family, and was an avid New York Yankee fan. He enjoyed watching sports, especially during the football season. He also liked to follow local harness racing and was known to place an occasional wager at OTB.

Mr. Boyd is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary Ann (Pickert) Boyd. Three sons, Ronald J (Betsy) Boyd of Raleigh, NC, Daniel M. (Shirley) Boyd of Batavia, and Michael J Boyd of Batavia. One daughter, Suzanne (Steven) Kabel of Black Mountain, NC. Seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  He has two surviving siblings, Gilbert Boyd and June Wolcott, both of Batavia. Mr. Boyd was also the brother to the late Merlyn Boyd, Doris VanCheri, Lorraine Allen, and Beatrice Hardy.

There are no prior calling hours. Services will be held on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 9:30 am at St. Mary’s Church, 18 Ellicott Street in Batavia.
