John Paul Kuszlyk, I

Batavia - John Paul Kuszlyk, I, age 69, proprietor of Kuszlyk Milk Haulers in Batavia, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Rochester General Hospital.

He was born February 21, 1948 in Rochester, the son of the late John H. Kuszlyk and Catherine H. Kyrk Kuszlyk.

John started driving milk truck for his father when he turned 18 years old but was teaching drivers the milk truck route long before that. He took over the business in 1972, when his father moved to Florida. He and his wife developed Kuszlyk Cattle Co., where they have bred and promoted a lot of great cows and bulls in the Milking Shorthorn Breed.  Their family had a feature article in the Fall 2016 edition of the American Milking Shorthorn Society magazine.

The former president of the Western New York Milk Carriers Association, Mr. Kuszlyk served as a past director for both the American Milking Shorthorn Society and American Lineback Dairy Cattle Association. He was very involved in promoting the dairy cattle industry throughout the country. They have worked with the local youth in the area for years as well as leading a 4-H Club for several years.

He loved attending cattle shows with his family and collecting model trucks and hats. He enjoyed antiques, attending auctions and socializing with friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Acomb Kuszlyk, whom he married July 31, 1971; his children, John Paul (Jeanette) Kuszlyk, II of Naples, Florida, Robert Henry (Rachael) Kuszlyk of Batavia, Marjorie Anna Kuszlyk, III (Brett P. Hill) of Byron, Kevin Michael (Brooke) Kuszlyk of Stafford and Steven William (Susan) Kuszlyk of Bergen; nine grandchildren, John Paul Kuszlyk, III and Jeanna Kuszlyk, Kristofer, Kameron, Kaden and Colton Kuszlyk, Porter John Hill and Alexander and Anastasia Kuszlyk and several cousins.

Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. AMELIO R. TADDEI

AMELIO R. TADDEI ~ Oakfield

Age 93, died peacefully Tuesday morning October 24, 2017 at United Memorial Medical Center. He was born October 14, 1924 in Oakfield, NY a son of the late Piacinte and Giacinta (Miconi) Taddei also preceded in death by infant sister, Mary Taddei and brother, Julio Taddei. 

Amelio was a WWII Army Veteran, a member of St. Padre Pio Parish formerly St. Cecelia's and was one of the original Merry Men of the Parish. He was a 30+ year employee of the Graham Manufacturing Co., loved his garden being especially proud of his garlic and enjoyed spending time at the family cabin on Red Lake.           

Surviving is his beloved wife of 67 years, Alice Jean (Yasses) Taddei of Oakfield; devoted father of, Carol (Martha Standish) Taddei of Pavilion, Marie (John) Blaine of Pittsburgh, PA and Marilyn (late Keith) Sheron of Batavia; dearest grandfather to, Dr. Maria (Brian) Sheron-Chung, Officer Derek (DeAnna) Blaine; great-grandfather to Weston Blaine along with several nieces and nephews.

There will be no prior visitation and Mr. Taddei's funeral services will be held privately at the  MICHAEL S. Jason Guy Reinhart

Jason Guy Reinhart, 41 of Batavia, passed away on Sunday October 22, 2017. He was born August 16, 1976 in Batavia, to Jerry L. (Carmela Pellegrino) Reinhart of Batavia.

Jason was a charismatic, passionate person who relished in reading, writing, drawing, music and playing the drums. Jason’s children were the center of his world. He had a zest for instilling his passions in his children. They enjoyed spending time outdoors, hiking, hunting, fishing, and riding ATV’s. Jason loved spending Sunday afternoons gathered at his parents with his siblings, children, nieces and nephews. Jason will be remembered for his free spirit and huge heart.

He is survived by his beloved children Marin Reinhart, Jayson G. Reinhart, Ava Reinhart all of Batavia,  Justice Owen Yourkowski of Alexander, Abigail Pound of Wilson; siblings Jerry R. (Lori) Reinhart of Batavia, Angelina (Chad) LaCivita of Clarence, Jennifer (Matthew) Allen of Batavia, loving sidekick Rachael Phillips of Batavia; nieces and nephews, Jerry, Maiya, Jesse Reinhart; Chad, Mason, Carmella LaCivita; Carmelina, Grace, Emme Allen; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Salvatore "Sal" J. Marchese

Salvatore “Sal” J. Marchese, 91 of Batavia, passed away on October 22, 2017 at the New York State Veterans Home in Batavia. He was born February 4, 1926 to the late Salvatore (Angeline Guggino) Marchese. He is preceded in death by siblings, Rose LaRussa, Florence Acitelli, Joseph, Russell and John Marchese, daughter-in-law Michelle (Hunt) Marchese.

Sal was a U.S. Navy World War II Veteran. He spent years and numerous hours as a volunteer at the Batavia Veterans Hospital. In the 1970’s he and his wife Joyce are remembered as the fun-loving owners of Heveron’s Hotel, bar and restaurant in East Pembroke. Sal finally retired from the NYS Thruway Authority. After retirement Sal and Joyce spent many years traveling around the United States and enjoyed visiting their children and grandchildren.

Sal never forgot a person’s name or face and always had a kind word for them. He had a love of horses and during his younger days owned and cared for numerous horses along with his passion for the sport of horse racing.

Salvatore is survived by his wife Joyce of 69 years. His children and their spouses include Glenna Harloff and her children Kevin (Carolyn) Geisler, David (Jackie) Geisler, Jennifer (Jeff) Barnes and Michael (Lisa) Harloff; four sons Paul S. Marchese, Peter M. (Deborah Wade) Marchese and their children Philip (Adrienne), Sara; Salvatore V. (Lori) Marchese, Daniel (Terri) Marchese and their children, Daniel (Carolyn) Marchese, Salvatore and Miles Marchese. Sisters Marie Gilmartin and Elaine Scappa; along with 10 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

Paul A. Martino

Paul A. Martino, 79 of Clinton, NY passed away on Sunday October 22, 2017 at St. Luke’s Medical Center in New Hartford. He was born April 19, 1938 in Batavia, to the late Daniel (Sarah Repecci) Martino. Mr. Martino is preceded in death by his sister Concetta Anastasi.

Mr. Martino was a 1960 graduate of the Coast Guard Academy and completed his graduate school at University of Maryland. Mr. Martino was retired from Lockheed Martin in Liverpool.

He is survived by his wife Alberta J. (Moore) Martino of Clinton; sons Paul A. Martino II of Houghton, Pete (Laura) Martino of Clinton; brother Daniel Martino of Batavia; 9 grandchildren, Andrew Merical, Flint Martino, Ashley Merical, Aiyana, Angela, Lexi, Levi, Vincent and Gavin Martino, along with aunts, cousins, several nieces and nephews.

Theresa M. Williams

Theresa M. Williams, 88, of Attica past away suddenly, but peacefully at her home of 59 years on October 19, 2017. She was born on June 24, 1929 in Batavia to the late Peter and Apolonia (Krol) Mazur. In addition to her parents, Theresa is predeceased by her husband Donald F. Williams and several brothers and sisters. 

Theresa was a lifelong resident of Attica. She enjoyed traveling and especially loved spending time with her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children; Gary (Linda) Williams of Attica, Gregory (Cindy) Williams of Attica and Sharon (Donald) Berbary of VA.; grandchildren Jeffrey (Lisa) Williams, Kris (Michele) Williams, Amy Berbary, Andrew (Jennifer) Berbary, Steven Berbary and Erin (Brian) Edwards along with 9 great-grandchildren.

Stanley Kwiecien

Stanley Kwiecien, 86 of Perry passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility in Warsaw. Stanley was born in Perry on March 2, 1931 a son of the late Felix and Josephine ( ) Kwiecien. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by siblings: Genevieve, Edward and Chester Kwiecien.

Stan worked for Moog Valve Co. in East Aurora and eventually became a self-employed instrumentation technician who worked on airplanes at the Perry-Warsaw and Batavia Airports. He was also a self-employed electrician.  He was a member of St. Isidore’s Catholic Parish in Perry, Perry Fire Department, Perry Exempt Firemen, Perry Emergency Ambulance, McKelton Post #350 American Legion in Perry, Knights of Columbus, Perry Vets Club and the former Dom Polski’s Club in Perry. Stan was a pilot who enjoyed flying his plane, playing his accordion, watching sporting events especially the Buffalo Bills games, he enjoyed being outdoors whether hiking, trapping or snow skiing.

He is survived by his wife Catherine M. (Dilello) “Katie” Kwiecien whom he married on September 3, 1955, 2 daughters: Mary Jo (Donald) Shelc of Perry, Debbie (John) Piccioli of Tucson, Az., 3 sons: Kenneth (Robin) Kwiecien, Thomas (Shelley) Kwiecien and Ronald (Michele) Kwiecien all of Perry, 11 grandchildren: Katie Jean and Laura Piccioli, Ryan and Robert Shelc, Gary, Kacey, Dannielle, Kristofer, Nickolas, Brittni and Brooke Kwiecien, 2 great granddaughters: Gracie and Skylar, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Ercel Lucy Scarborough

Basom - Ercel Lucy Scarborough, 91, of Basom, went to be with her Lord in Heaven on Sunday (October 22, 2017) at the Buffalo General Medical Center.

Ercel was born August 30, 1926 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Harvey and Viola (Woolfe) Phelps.

Ercel will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, who loved playing with her grandchildren.  She enjoyed attending her children's, grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's events and gardening, music, canning and games.  She was a very active member of the Oakfield Alabama Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, Duane (Barbara) Scarborough of Batavia, Joyce (Ronald) Pritchett of Basom, Sharon (Mark) Smith of Long Island and Samuel (Julie) Scarborough of Basom; one brother, David (late Alice) Phelps of Falconer; one sister, Ella (Warren) Woolsey of Houghton; one sister-in-law, Opal Phelps of Batavia; thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Ercel is the wife of the late Gerald Irvin Scarborough and sister of the late Roger (late Mildred) Phelps and Norman (late Grace) Phelps.  

Calling hours are Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield and also on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Oakfield Alabama Baptist Church, 2210 Judge Road, Oakfield, where services will follow immediately at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Michael A. Mancuso

Stafford/LeRoy ~ Michael A. Mancuso, age 56, passed away on Friday morning (October 20, 2017) at Strong Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

    

He was born June 16, 1961 in Batavia, a son of Murl and Jean Lang Mancuso.

     Michael was a very caring and loving son, brother, uncle and friend, who was an avid hunter.  He was also an airplane enthusiast and would travel to various air shows, many of them in Florida.

     In addition to his parents, Murl and Jean of Lime Rock, he is survived by his sister, Linda  Mancuso of LeRoy; his brother, John (Debbie) Mancuso of LeRoy; nieces, Johnna (Josh) Porter and Jessica Mancuso (Julie Mecklenberg); great-nieces, Joselyn and Jazmyn, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

     Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4 ~ 7 PM at the  Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Rd. (Rt. 19), LeRoy.  His Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, 44 Lake St., LeRoy.

Mabel L. Spencer

Mabel L. Spencer, 88, of Attica passed away peacefully on October 17, 2017at the Pathway Home of the Finger Lakes in Seneca Falls, New York. She was born August 14, 1929 in Orangeville to the late Albert (Edith Herr) Schiller. Mrs. Spencer is preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert E. Spencer; son Thomas R. Spencer; sisters Mary Reisdorf, Ethel Barbour, Frances Barber and Carrie Wawzyniak; infant brother Laverne Schiller.

Mabel went to Bennington Elementary and Attica Junior and Senior High School. She was loved by family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children Kathleen (Mark) Hinman of Macedon and James E. (Sue) Spencer of Warsaw; grandchildren Tammy (Brad) Collins, Patricia (Michael) Harvey, Carrie Ann Kilby, Angela (Patrick) Spencer, Kyle D. Kilby (Hollie), Robert J. Spencer (Jessica), Melinda Spencer, Justin Spencer and Sherrie Spencer; 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

William A. "Bill" Heisler

William A. "Bill" Heisler, age 80, of Le Roy passed away peacefully October 16, 2017 at the Batavia VA Maple Lodge Community Living Center with his family by his side.  He was born on November 17, 1936 in Albion to the late Arnold and Mildred (Sandle) Heisler. 

Bill was a proud Army Veteran serving 1955-1957 stationed in Germany.  He retired in 1996 from a career in the VA Health Care System and the National Disaster Medical System.

He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 59 years Marian C. (LaRussa) Heisler; his treasured sisters Ron and Carole (Heisler) Acker-Beatty of Fort Pierce, FL., James and Mickey (Heisler) Hemmer and Rick and Mary (Heisler) Kramer-Woods both of Escondido, Ca., Dutch and Karen (Heisler) VanWyngaarden of Byron, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary E. "Mary Beth" Diehl

Mary E. “Mary Beth” Diehl, 65, of Attica went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday October 13, 2017. She was born on February 9, 1952 to Doris (Reding) Schiller and the late Norman Schiller. In addition to her father, she is predeceased by her loving husband of 30 years; Larry A. Diehl I; brother John “Jack” Schiller and brother in law George (Marge) Diehl.

She is survived by her son; Larry A. (Jill) Diehl II and her cherished grandson; Joshua A. Diehl; step grandsons Spencer and Nathan Draves; siblings Ellen (Steve) Schmidt of Attica, Jeanne (Earl) Seeley of Angelica, Thomas (Adrienne) Schiller of Alexander; sister in law Darlene (Earl) Plummer of Canandaigua and brother in law Kenneth (Pam) Diehl of LeRoy; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

Mary Beth and her husband owned and operated Good Diehl’s Tavern in Attica for many years and later she jointly owned and operated Top to Bottom Cleaning Service.  She loved her clients and they loved her. She will be greatly missed by many, including her companion, Fluffy.

Mildred I. Marble

Mildred I. Marble, 79, of Corfu, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday (October 17, 2017).

She was born on November 5, 1937 in East Pembroke, a daughter of the Erwin and Dorothy Wall Slater.

Millie was a retired Postmaster of East Pembroke where she served for 17 years. She was a member of the Cornerstone Church of East Pembroke where she sang in the choir and served on many committees. She was a Life Member of the East Pembroke Fire Department Auxiliary where she was past President and also held many other offices. Millie was a member of NAPUS and NARFE. She enjoyed traveling with her daughters, crocheting, knitting, sewing and bowling.

Millie was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Lyle E. Marble, who died in 1997, with whom she and their daughters traveled with while he served in the United States Army. She was the sister of the late Jane Slater, June Slater Culmo and Dean (last Ruth) Slater.

She is survived by two daughters: Michal (Gordon) Petty of Corfu and Candi (Brian) Fite of Fulton; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, with another expected in January; her brother-in-law Peter Culmo of Florida and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Thursday, October 19th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the C. B. Beach & Son Mortuary, Inc., 4 East Main Street, Corfu. Funeral services will be held at the Cornerstone Church of East Pembroke, 2583 Main Road in East Pembroke at 11a.m on Friday, October 20th. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, East Pembroke. Mrs. Linda L. Cianfrini

West Seneca - Linda L. Cianfrini, 67, of West Seneca, formerly of Basom and Las Vegas, passed away on October 17, 2017 at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital.

Mrs. Cianfrini was born February 10, 1950 in Buffalo, a daughter of the late Frank and Thelma Edwards.

Linda was a bus driver for the Las Vegas School System and was a longtime bus driver for the Oakfield-Alabama School District. She enjoyed crafting, making jewelry and antiques.

She will also be dearly missed by her beloved feline, Skiddy.

Her husband, Ronald J.  Cianfrini, passed away on November 25, 2014.

She is survived by her children, Leah (David) Marco, Eric Mages and James Mages, Jr., all of Buffalo; step-children, Mark (Laurie) Cianfrini of Akron, Danielle (Richard) Howard of Indiana and Nicholas Cianfrini of North Carolina; twelve grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; her brothers, Curt (Joan) Edwards of Lockport and Bill (late Bunny) Rinus of Colden; her step-sister, Shelly (late Jim) Oatman of Springville; her step-mother, Mary Lou Edwards of Springville; brothers-in-law, Raymond (Karen) Cianfrini of Oakfield and  Dennis (Karen) Cianfrini of Fort Myers, Florida; her sister-in-law, Dianne (late Rick) Hewett of Lancaster; her beloved feline, Skiddy and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her sister, Sandy Fridman.

Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. the at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield, where Linda’s funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. NATHAN E. KITTRELL ~ East Pembroke

Age 62, died Sunday evening October 15, 2017 at home under the care of Hospice and his loving family. He was born October 28, 1954 in Roanoke Rapids, NC a son of the late Kenneth H. Kittrell and the late Mary F. Saunders. He was preceded in death by siblings, Ricky Dale Kittrell, Michael Kittrell, Linda Varvel and Debbie Jeffries. 

Nate was a union iron worker for many years in North Carolina before moving up to New York a few years back. He was a true outdoorsman who especially enjoyed hunting and fishing, an avid sports fan, especially the North Carolina Tar Heels and NASCAR, his favorite driver, Tony Stewart. Nate had a love for holidays, Christmas being his favorite and will be remembered for his "gift of gab", he loved to talk if someone would listen.           

Surviving are his sons, Paul A. of NC, Levi W. of PA; siblings, Elaine (Don) Newton of East Pembroke, Donnie (Al) Rogers of FL, Kay Carmichael of NC; step-mother, Lucille Brown of NC; grandchildren, Willow Elaine and Chloe Kittrell; dear friends, Ray Chatt, Jimmy Perry & Mary Ann Chatley along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces-nephews, cousins and friends. 

Nate's family will be present from 4-8pm on Friday October 20, 2017 at the MICHAEL S. TOMASZEWSKI FUNERAL & CREMATON CHAPEL, LLC 4120 West Main Street Road Batavia, New York 14020 where funeral services will be held 10:30am Saturday October 21. He will be laid to rest in Hillside Cemetery, East Pembroke and memorials in his memory are suggested to High Point Community Church 1163 Main Road Corfu, New York 14036.
