A controlled burn at 9870 Perry Road "is no longer a controlled burn. It's a field fire moving toward the woods," according to an emergency dispatcher. Pavilion Fire Department is called. The location is between Black Street Road and Cole Road.

UPDATE 4:01 p.m.: "A call back from the resident indicates the fire is now mostly under control."

Kenneth W. Cook III, 19, of 108 Oak St., Batavia, is charged with sexual misconduct and endangering the welfare of a child. Cook is accused of having sexual relations with a girl under the age of 17.

Timothy J. Petrie, 41, of Pavilion, is charged with harassment, 2nd. Petrie was arrested by State Police in relation to an incident reported Aug. 19. No further details released.

A semi-trailer reportedly has a brake fire at the Yellow Goose at the intersection of routes 63 and 20, Texaco Town.

Smoke, "a light haze," is reported at Lot 3 of the Caesar's Palace Mobile Home Park. It's located at 8486 W. Bergen Road. Bergen and Le Roy fire departments are responding to the scene. Pavilion Fire Department is asked to stand by in their quarters.

The homeowner told responders he has no idea what may be causing the smoke. The structure has been evacuated.

UPDATE 1:13 p.m.: The smoke has been cleared. We think the source was a clothes dryer. No actual fire was present. The walls were checked with a thermal imaging camera. Pavilion is standing down. The other responders are picking up their equipment and preparing to leave.

Jamie R. Alford, 22, of 219 N. Spruce St., Batavia, is charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Batavia PD responded to a report of a disturbance in the bar at Days Inn at 1:18 a.m., Sunday. Several people were reportedly involved in several fights inside and outside the hotel. Alford was reportedly among people ordered by hotel staff and police officers to leave the property. While patrols were dispersing the crowd, Alford allegedly tried to start another fight in the bar area. When officers attempted to arrest Alford, he allegedly resisted arrest and fought with police. Following arraignment in city court, Alford was jailed on $500 bail.

Alicia M. Stankwick, 21, of 318 E. Main St., Apt. #2, Batavia, is charged with criminal contempt. Stankwick allegedly violated an order of protection by having a third-party communicate with the protected party.

Roger L. Lashure Sr., 45, of 3322 W. Main St. Road, Batavia, is charged with three counts of criminal contempt, 2nd. Lashure is accused of contacting a person he was ordered not to contact on three occasions between Oct. 23 and Oct. 25.

Abigail R. Storman, 17, of 111 State St., Batavia, is charged with menacing, 2nd, harassment, 2nd, criminal mischief, 4th, and harassment, 2nd. Stroman is accused to threatening a person by holding a knife and stating she would "slice up" the person at 9:15 a.m., Thursday. She also allegedly threatened to hit the person while raising her fist. She allegedly punched and broke a window in the residence.

Scott Dwayne Kingdon, 46, of Sparks Road, Pavilion, is charged with aggravated harassment, 2nd. Kingdon is accused of constantly contacting a person through Facebook, texting and e-mails after being old not to have contact with the person. An order of protection was issued following Kingdon's arrest.

Garfield George Phillips, 46, of Lincoln Avenue, Rochester, is charged with issuing a bad check. Phillips was taken into custody by Rochester PD on an arrest warrant out of Le Roy Town Court and turned over to the Sherrif's Office. Phillips is accused of writing a bad check July 25 in the amount of $2,400.

Ashlea Marie Harmon, 21, of Edwards Street, Batavia, is charged with petit larceny. Harmon is accused of stealing a Kindle Fire from an apartment where she was babysitting and then pawning the ebook reader.

A Pavilion mother who was arrested for driving drunk with her child in her car will get a chance to get herself straightened out as part of a plea deal approved by Judge Robert C. Noonan.

Angela R. Kruse, 40, will go through substance-abuse rehabilitation for a year. If she succeeds in the program, she need serve only another four years on probation.

If she fails she will be sent to prison for four years.

Kruse was arrested in June after a tipster in Wyoming County told local law enforcement that she was driving drunk with a child in her car. She was arrested in the parking lot of Tops Market in Le Roy.

Her BAC at the time was reportedly .14 and her 4-year-old child was in the vehicle.

Today, Kruse admitted to driving drunk with a child in her car.

Currently, Kruse is being held in the Wyoming County Jail on $15,000 bail following her arrest in September for allegedly driving drunk. In that case, Kruse was reportedly involved in a single-vehicle accident in Covington.

Charges in that case are still pending and will be considered separately -- since it's another jurisdiction -- from the Genesee County case.

Whenever I'm in Pavilion, I like to stop by Randy and Cindy Starr's farm on Starr Road in Pavilion, especially on a beautiful day.

This morning, Randy was busy grinding barley for feed when I arrived.

As I've written about before, Randy likes old-time farming, using mainly older tractors (he does have a new, modern-technology tractor now) and growing a variety of crops on his 100-acre spread. Today, he showed me his single-row corn harvester, which leaves the corn kernels on the cob, which he said yield more feed per acre.

For years, Pavilion has dealt with a sewer system that can't handle the capacity of the 200 or so customers in the hamlet.

Not along ago, the contractor who operates the sewer system contacted the company that designed and manufactured the system, Pure Stream, and as it turns out, the company said the system actually has a design flaw.

Pure Stream constructed and delivered a new 30,000-gallon sewer tank at no expense to the sewer district. The district, however, is paying for the installation of the tank, which is taking place today.

Supervisor Ted Howard said the cost of installation is significantly under $20,000, but that there will be no rate increase for sewer district customers.

"Hopefully, from here on out, we'll have no more problems with the plant not having adequate capacity," Howard said.

Jessica L. Connolly, 34, of Batavia, is charged with DWI, driving while impaired by drugs and unlawful possession of marijuana. Connolly was stopped by State Police at 4:15 p.m., Saturday, on Route 98 in Alexander.

Timothy Billingsley, 21, is charged with criminal mischief, 4th, and harassment, 2nd. Billingsley was arrested by State Police for an alleged incident reported at 12:27 p.m., Friday.

Justin Marc Wotherspoon, 26, of Gibson Street, Oakfield, was arrested on a warrant out of Town of Batavia Court. He was jailed on $200 bail.

A Rochester man accused of robbing the Five Star Bank branch in Pavilion on April 16 has been formally charged with the crime.

Jonathan Alexander Mills, 25, was arraigned in Genesee County Court on Wednesday. He is charged with robbery, 3rd, and grand larceny, 4th.

While bail was set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond, Mills is currently being held in the Columbia County Jail on similar charges. He is scheduled to reappear in Genesee County for further court proceedings Dec. 11.

James G. Cox II, 27, of 46 Holland Ave., Lancaster, is charged with petit larceny, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and permitting unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Cox was identified as a suspect of a heist of a 12-pack of beer from Tops Market at 11:29 p.m., Wednesday. His vehicle was located on School Street and Officer Frank Klimjack initiated a traffic stop.

Jamie A. Showler, 16, of 19 Manhattan Ave, Batavia, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08 or greater and unlicensed operation. Showler was allegedly driving the vehicle (see Cox, above) seen leaving the scene of an alleged beer theft from Tops Market.

(Name redacted upon request), 22, of River Road, Pavilion, is charged with petit larceny and criminal tampering, 3rd. xxx was located in Target on Wednesday and identified as a suspect in the theft of the beverage Red Bull on Oct. 6. Besides allegedly stealing the Red Bull, Losh is accused of tampering with the security device on a Dyson vacuum.

Rena P. Argento, 53, of Chili, is charged with DWI and driving with a BAC of .08 or greater. Argento was stopped by State Police on Caswell Road, Stafford, at 2:36 a.m., Tuesday.

A Pavilion resident was uninjured early this morning after falling asleep and crashing his car on Route 246 in the Town of Covington.

Christopher Barbis, 26, was, however, cited by the Wyoming County Sheriff's Office for alleged failure to keep right.

Barbis was southbound on Route 237 at 2:23 a.m. when he reportedly fell asleep at the wheel.

His car had substantial front-end damage after striking a National Grid utility pole.

Pavilion Fire Department responded to the scene.

No other vehicles were involved.

A car has careened into the post office building at 11142 S. Lake Road in Pavilion. But an officer on scene says he can find no evidence of it. He's told to check the loading docks. There are reportedly no injuries but an ambulance is responding in non-emergency mode to evaluate the person or persons involved.

UPDATE 2:24 p.m.: A responder says fire and EMS can clear the assignment, but a deputy is called to the scene.

A driver allegedly failed to stop for a red light at the Texeco Town intersection in Pavilion at 1:09 p.m., Sunday, causing an accident that sent three people to area hospitals.

Andre Trepanier, age unknown, of Sainte-Threse, Quebec, Canada, was issued a traffic citation following the accident.

He was transported by Mercy EMS to Erie County Medical Center as was his passenger, Lise Trepanier, 72.

Also injured was Toby S. Emo, 37, of Nunda. Emo was taken to UMMC.

None of the injuries were life threatening.

According to the accident investigation report by Deputy Brad Mazur, Trepanier was westbound on Route 20 when he allegedly failed to stop for a red light. His 2011 Chevy sedan was struck by Emo's 2012 Ford minivan. The minivan then struck a utility pole.

A head-on collision with serious injuries is reported at routes 63 and 20, Texaco Town. At least two cars are involved. Mercy Flight is put on in-air standby. Pavilion Fire Department is on scene. Mercy medics and law enforcement are responding. One subject in a vehicle is alert, but entrapped.

UPDATE 1:16 p.m.: A landing zone for the helicopter will be set up. Eastbound traffic on Route 20 will be shut down.

UPDATE 1:17 p.m.: Mercy Flight is told to stand down.

UPDATE 1:23 p.m.: Southbound Route 63 is shut down and now westbound Route 20 is also shut down. National Grid is called to respond to pole number 249-1 and two flatbed tow trucks are responding.

UPDATE 1:38 p.m.: One person is being transported to Erie County Medical Center. A 36-year-old man is being taken to UMMC with a complaint of left shoulder and leg pain. He was the person initially entrapped in a vehicle.

UPDATE 2:16 p.m.: The roadways are reopened. Units back in service.

UPDATE 2:24 p.m.: A third patient was also taken to Erie County Medical Center.

The Le Roy Police Department is asking for assistance in identifying the white female in these surveillance photographs as a forgery suspect who has allegedly passed numerous forged checks in numerous locations n Genesee, Monroe and Ontario counties.

A shed fire is reported at 6335 Telephone Road. It is near a structure. Pavilion and Le Roy fire departments are responding. The location is between Ellicott Street Road and Transit Road. A power line is running nearby and National Grid is notified. The roadway will be closed.

UPDATE 2:04 p.m.: "There's a lot of heavy black smoke," says a responder. A second alarm crew is called to stand by in quarters but the fire has almost burned itself out.

UPDATE 2:07 p.m.: A utility pole and power line are "involved."

UPDATE 2:09 p.m.: The city's Fast Team was called but is put back in service. Transit Road will be closed at Telephone Road.

UPDATE 2:11 p.m.: The second-alarm crew is told to stand down.

UPDATE 2:14 p.m.: "We're gonna have it knocked down in a minute," says the commander. They are going to apply foam soon.

UPDATE 2:19 p.m.: "The fire is under control."

UPDATE 3:10 p.m.: The eastbound lane is reopened.

UPDATE 3:17 p.m. The road's open, assignment back in service.

A one-vehicle rollover accident is reported at 7949 Telephone Road  in Pavilion. The driver is out and walking around. He reportedly told dispatch he fell asleep at the wheel and his vehicle rolled multiple times. He claims to have no injuries, but Mercy medics are responding to check him out. Law enforcement is also responding. The location is between Linwood and Asbury roads.

UPDATE 2:52 p.m.: A medic on scene confirms the healthy condition of the driver, save for a couple of nicks on his fingers. He warns that the accident has "upset some bees -- there's bees all over the place."

A high-speed chase that started in Covington, made its way into Genesee County, and ended in Leicester may have begun because the driver had a revoked license, State Police say.

Shawn E. Wallace, 41, of Rochester, is charged with reckless endangerment, 1st, a Class D felony, unlawful fleeing of police and several traffic violations in multiple jurisdictions.

According to State Police, a trooper stopped a 2000 Mercedes on Route 19 in Covington on Friday for alleged traffic violations. Upon approaching the vehicle, the Mercedes allegedly fled at a high rate of speed.

Troopers pursued the vehicle into Genesee County on Route 63 and lost sight of the vehicle near Route 246.

Area law enforcement agencies were advised to be on the lookout for the vehicle and it was spotted a short time later on Route 20A, heading east toward Livingston County.

Troopers and Village of Perry police again attempted to stop the Mercedes and the vehicle allegedly fled at a high rate of speed.

During the second pursuit, the Mercedes allegedly nearly struck a state police vehicle head on.

The pursuit continued onto Perry Road into Leicester. After crossing Route 36, the Mercedes headed down a dead-end road and left the paved highway.

Following a short foot pursuit, Wallace was taken into custody.

Following arraignment, Wallace was placed in the Livingston County Jail without bail.

No injuries to either Wallace or law enforcement officers were reported as a result of the incident.

Matthew James Vandorn, 22, of Trumbull Parkway, Batavia, is charged with criminal possession of stolen property, 5th, unlicensed operation, switched plates, unregistered motorcycle and no insurance. Vandorn was arrested after Deputy Joseph Graff stopped him at 10:41 p.m., Wednesday, to check on a motorcyclist in a parking lot off Route 63 in Pavilion. The license plates on the motorcycle were allegedly stolen property.
