Joseph E. Buckley, 47, of Batavia, was arrested yesterday at 5:30 p.m. and charged with a felony DWI. The aggravated charge arose from a previous DWI conviction within the past 10 years. He is also accused of consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle. Buckley was stopped after police received a call about a domestic incident. He is being held without bail.

UPDATE, 10:35 a.m.

Just released: A 17-year-old was arrested April 22 at Batavia High for allegedly possessing marijuana. The youth, from Batavia, is scheduled to appear in court May 6 on the charge.

Robert D. Wood, 18, of Batavia, in being held without bail in Genesee County Jail and charged with a felony count of burglary. Wood is accused of helping another person enter an apartment so that person could attack somebody inside the apartment.

Tracylee Cayea, 39, of Livonia, is charged with criminal contempt in the second degree. Cayea allegedly violated an order of protection by going to her ex-boyfriend's home in Pavilion.

Michael J. Pask, 39, of Basom, is charged with DWI following a traffic stop in Oakfield. Pask was allegedly driving with a BAC of .08 or greater.

Daniel J. Staebell, 42, of Corfu, is charged with DWI following a traffic stop in Pembroke. Staebell was allegedly driving with a BAC of .08 or greater.

Derek F. McQueen, 21, of Corfu, charged with aggravated harassment and held on $500 bail. McQueen is accused of sending threatening text messages to his ex-girlfriend.

Robert J. Shutt, 26, of Batavia, charged with DWI following a reported traffic stop. He is accused for driving with a BAC of .08 or greater and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Nicholas A. Cinquino III, 25, of Batavia, was allegedly observed driving down the center lane of West Main about 2:30 this morning. After a traffic stop, Cinquino was taken into custody. He is charged with DWI, with a BAC of more than .18 and ticketed for improper lane usage.

Misty D. Palmer, 21, of LeRoy, is accused of trying to walk out of Wal-Mart with three DVDs. She is charged with petty larceny. Palmer was reportedly caught after the inventory control sensor was activated as she tried to walk out the front door. She was issued an appearance ticket.

I just called Todd with this information:  I saw this gentleman this morning in the Jackson St. parking lot, behind Main Street, half way between Ken Mislter's new gym and South Beach (I was walking down to take the picture of South Beach I used in this morning's post). That would have been about 10:30, I think. He was looking out at the parking lot like he was looking for somebody.  He did look at me and answered my "hello" tentatively. He had such a distinctive look, I was curious about him and all most stopped to chat -- wish I would have.

If you saw him around town, you should call the police department. I'm sure it would be helpful to trace his movements.

Batavia Police Detective Todd Crossett has been honored by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children for his efforts to identify and arrest a suspected online predator.

Crossett was nominated for the award by FBI special agent Matthew Braverman. Crossett and Braverman worked together on the Dalton Wilke case.

Wilke allegedly made contact with a person he thought was a juvenile male and agreed to meet the youngster in Batavia for sex. Crossett posed online as the young male.

Wilke was arrested in Batavia with the assistance of the Buffalo FBI, LeRoy Police Department and members of the Batavia Police patrol unit.

Robert C. Synder, 48, of Batavia, allegedly pulled a woman from a chair and began dragging her across the floor by her hair Friday night. He is charged with harassment in the second degree. He is held on $1,500.

Daniel K. Norton, 22, of Batavia, was arrested early Sunday morning on a DWI charge following a traffic stop Lear Road. He is accused of having a BAC of .08 or more.

William E. Schneider, 23, of Bergen, is charged with a felony count of DWI. Schneider is also accused of driving 75 m.p.h. in a 55 m.p.h. zone. He was stopped on Route 33 in the Town of Stafford.

O.V. Murphy, 50, of Batavia, was charged with felony DWI on Sunday evening. Murphy was reportedly stopped on Route 5 in the Town of Batavia. He is accused of operating a motor vehicle while drinking and having a BAC of .18 or greater.

Sheriff's deputies and members of the Drug Task Force executed a search warrant last night at 5430 School Road, Apt. A, in Stafford last night and reportedly found $1,500 worth of cocaine and $500 in cash.

Taken into custody was Derek R. Leach, 29, of Stafford.

He is charged with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Leach was locked up in Genesee County Jail and is being held without bail.

Andrew V. Mohawk, 20, of Batavia, is accused of going onto another person's property on Clinton Street Road and damaging a series of walkway lights. The alleged incident occurred yesterday morning about 1:45 a.m. Mohawk is charged with criminal mischief in the fourth degree and trespass.

Denis N. Pirincci, 21, of Batavia, was arrested early this morning following a complaint of an erratic driver on Oak Street. Pirincci is charged with DWI with a BAC of .08 or higher, and possession of alcohol in a vehicle.

Derek G. Thomas, 32, of Batavia, is charged with criminal contempt in the first degree and harassment in the second degree following an alleged physical altercation with a person he had been ordered to not contact. The alleged incident took place yesterday evening around 7:30 p.m. on South Main Street. Thomas is in jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.

DaQuan Reynolds, 18, of Rochester, a student of Genesee Community College, is accused of harassing another student. An order of protection has been issued barring him from contact with the student. He allegedly physically contacted the student. He is charged with harassment in the second degree.

Anthony W. Dachille, 23, of Henrietta, was stopped on Route 33 in Bergen early yesterday morning for alleged "multiple" traffic violations and after a short investigation, deputies concluded he appeared to be drinking and driving and the car he was in was stolen. Dachille's license had previously been revoked for a DWI violation in 2007. Dachille is charged with felony DWI, unlicensed operation of a vehicle in the 1st degree and criminal possession of stolen property.

A Batavia teen has been charged with rape in the first degree, according to a report by Batavia Police.

Oliver Thomas, 17, is accused of forcibly raping a 15-year-old girl at his home on Feb. 16.

Thomas, who was taken into custody at 9:15 a.m. today,  was jailed without bail.

Sheriff's deputies are searching the area around Tops on West Main after a suspected shoplifter allegedly fled the area. The suspect was last scene scaling a fence near the store. 

The suspect is believed to be a thin, tall black male, possibly wearing a checkered jacket or vest. Police declined to provide any further description at this time.

Tanya L. Captain, 21, of Batavia, is accused of repeatedly hitting another woman in the face and breaking her nose.  Captain reportedly showed up at the other woman's home Sunday afternoon around 3 p.m. and assaulted the other woman. Captain is charged with assault in the third degree, a misdemeanor. She was issued an appearance ticket.

Carla L. Southwell-Wood, 52, of Batavia, was charged Sunday night with DWI and endangering the welfare of a child. Southell-Wood was stopped by deputies on Rose Road after the Sheriff's office received a report that Southwell-Wood was allegedly driving while intoxicated in a white mini-van. After a traffic stop was initiated, deputies also report they found a child under 17 in the vehicle.

Three people were charged Thursday with under-age alcohol violations following an undercover operation involving Sheriff's Office personnel, with the assistance of Genesee Council on Alcohol and Substance Abuse. Arrested were Andrew J. Cutcliffe, 20, Pavilion, charged with unlawful possession of alcohol by a person under 21 with intent to consume; Carly H. Kelch, 23, of Linwood, charged with one count of sale of alcohol to a person under 21; and Timothy R. Andrews, 21, of Wyoming, charged with DWI, with a BAC of .08 or higher, failure to keep right and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Drug Task Force officers on patrol in Bergen spotted what looked like a drug deal taking place last night in the parking lot of 8132 Buffalo Road.

After further investigation, three suspects were taken into custody, and $200 worth of cocaine and $2,319 in cash were seized.

Mark S. Robbins, 27, of Batavia, charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree. He is held on $15,000 bail.

Joseph P. Sirianni, 46, of Rochester, charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in third degree. He is held on $5,000 bail.

Kathryn L. Johnson, 21, of Bergen, charged with conspiracy in the fourth degree, criminal facilitation in the fourth degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. She is held on $5,000 bail.

Assisting in the investigation were uniformed deputies of the Sheriff's Office, and the Genesee County District Attorney's Office.

Tracylee Cayea, 39, of Lakeville, reportedly entered the home of a person in Pavilion on Tuesday and then refused to leave after numerous requests that she depart.She is charged with criminal trespass in the second degree.

Michael P. Johnson, 23, of Batavia, reportedly failed to stop for a stop sign, which led to police pulling him over early this morning. On further investigate, officers concluded he may have been drinking, He is charged with DWI with a BAC of .08 or more.

Jovoun Webb, 23, of Brockport, was arrested early yesterday morning and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the second degree. Webb reportedly came to the attention of a Sheriff's deputy after allegedly failing to yield the right of way and unlawful tint on his windows. The deputy reports he smelled marijuana while talking with Webb. A search, the deputy reports, led to the discover of marijuana on Webb and in the center console of his vehicle. Webb allegedly has 8 suspensions on his license in four different states.

William A. Henderson, 34, of Rochester, was arrested for DWI yesterday in Corfu.  Henderson was identified after State Police received a tip from Wende Correctional Facility in Alden that an intoxicated individual had driven away from the facility.  A short time later, a state trooper spotted the suspected vehicle at Routes 33 and 77.  The trooper reported that Henderson failed several field sobriety tests. A small amount of marijuana was reportedly found in Henderson's vehicle. Henderson reportedly has two previous DWI convictions. Henderson was charged with DWI, operating a vehicle without a seat belt and possession of marijuana. He is being held on $10,000 bail.

A Conesus couple is charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree for allegedly stealing four chain saws from Morg's Sawz & Stoves in Pavilion. The crime allegedly took place March 26 in the afternoon. The suspects were picked up that day by the Livingston County Sheriff's Office. Arraigned yesterday in Pavilion Town Court were Michael G. Boggs, 31,and Jennifer R. Boggs, 26.  The couple remains incarcerated in Livingston County.

Kenneth Laird, 56, of Bethany, is accused of getting into a domestic dispute yesterday with a person he has been ordered not to contact. Laird reportedly threw rocks at this person's car as the person tried to leave the scene of the dispute. Laird is charged with criminal contempt in the 2nd degree and harassment in the second degree.

Lisa M. Derrett, 18, of Batavia, is charged with stalking in the 4th degree. Derrett was taken into custody following an investigation at Genesee Community College where she allegedly approached an individual she had been advised by law enforcement not to contact. She was released on her own recognize. An order of protection was issued.

Roberta King, killed in Binghamton on Friday, was born in Batavia, but grew up in Syracuse, according to Syracuse.com.

King, 72, was a substitute teacher that day.

People who knew her in Binghamton talked of her extensive doll collection and how she generously donated them for the annual Hanukkah museum at Temple Concord in Binghamton. Some of her dolls are on permanent display there.

On the Binghamton newspaper's Web site, many of the people commenting had her as a teacher and substitute teacher, and spoke glowingly of how she touched their lives.

Syracuse classmates from Roberta King's high school and college years in Syracuse were shocked Saturday to learn the gentle, sweet woman they remembered died Friday at the head of a classroom in the American Civic Association in Binghamton.

Marcos Juan Gomez, 31, of Rochester (pictured, right), is being charged with robbery in the 1st degree after allegedly being caught shoplifting at Target, and when security personnel there tried to stop him, he reportedly pulled a knife and fled. He was subsequently apprehended in the Home Depot parking lot. He is being held in Genesee County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.

Michael F. Geer, 18, of Batavia, is in jail on $5,000 bail and charged with harassment in the second degree and menacing in the second degree after allegedly wielding a knife and threatening to kill his mother. He is also charged with possession of a controlled substance He was taken into custody yesterday at around 5 p.m.

Benjamin Muntz, 20, of Oakfield (pictured, left), is accused of forgery after allegedly trying to pass forged checks at a local bank. He was arrested Thursday by a Sheriff's deputy while at Batavia City Court. He allegedly possessed two forged checks while at a Batavia bank in September. He is held in custody in lieu of $5,000 bail.

A 17-year-old girl from Stafford is in custody and held on $1,000 bail after allegedly entering a residence and taking $300 worth of property. She is charged with burglary in the second degree, a felony, and petty larceny. An order of protection was also issued.

Clint L. Stafford, 27, of Basom, was charged with DWI and felony unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle early Sunday morning. He was also ticked with an improper left turn and an open container.

A 17-year-old from Bergen is being charged with possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree. A K-9 reportedly found hydrocodone in the teenagers possession in November and a subsequent lab test confirmed the substance was hydrocodone. The teenager was issued an appearance ticket.

A 17-year-old girl involved in a motor vehicle accident in Stafford last week was allegedly found with a switch blade knife and several marijuana pipes. She is being charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the 4th degree and unlawful possession of marijuana.
