CANCELLED: Stained Glass Sunday

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 1 East Main St., LeRoy presents “Stained Glass Sunday” on Sunday, March 29 at 2:00 pm.  Guest speaker Valerie O’Hara will speak about the art, craft and history of stained glass with comments on the unique windows at St. Mark’s.  O’Hara is a third-generation stained glass artist who creates and restores stained glass at the Pike Stained Glass Studio in Rochester.  This free talk is open to the public.  Please join us for the presentation, a look at the windows of St. Mark’s, and refreshments following.

'Community for Understanding' at St. Mark's church in Le Roy

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church’s monthly discussion series called “Community for Understanding” will meet on Thursday, March 12 at 7 pm. to hear Millie Tomidy-Pepper review “The Moment of Lift: How Empowering Women Changes the World” by Melinda Gates.

Millie is the Executive Director of the YWCA Genesee County, and she will also discuss the work of this organization. All are welcome to these monthly conversations on current concerns. More information at www.stmarksleroy.org or 585-768-7200.

Tale Talk: Court Appointed Special Advocates

Richmond Memorial Library, 19 Ross St., Batavia is hosting a Tale Talk on Thursday, March 5 at 7:00 pm.  Ashley Hausfelder, Executive Director of Genesee County CASA for Children, will share her experience in the field of Court Appointed Special Advocates and will relate her experiences to the “Tale for Three Counties” book for 2015, We Are Called to Rise by Laura McBride.  This book is the 13th novel for the annual one-book project and carries one theme of the importance of these helpers in the justice system.  This free program does not require registration.
