Road-rage incident strands driver in Bergen Town Hall parking lot

posted by Billie Owens in bergen.

What appears to be a road-rage incident took place in the parking lot of the Bergen Town Hall. The driver of a vehicle told another "stop speeding on my road." It seems they both pulled into the parking lot and the angry driver knocked the other person to the ground, removed a wire of some sort from the engine compartment of the person's vehicle and then sped off in an unknown direction of travel.

Sheriff's deputies are responding. The vehicle that left the scene may have been a burgundy pickup truck. The Bergen Town Hall is located at 13 S. Lake Road 10 Hunter St.

UPDATE 4:14 p.m.: The stranded motorist declined EMS care.

Just to clarify.. the Bergen Town Hall is at 10 Hunter Street. It used to be on 19 but moved 2 or 3 years ago. The courthouse is there too.

That other driver is sooooo lucky the person they assaulted wasn't armed.

People should never take the law into their own hands. That's what Police are for.

As quoted on the Batavian Facebook page..." Not funny it was a 70 something old man assaulted by a 30 something ass.....! How would you feel if that was your father or grandfather?!!"

Hi Howard, Not sure where you received the quote, but this gentleman who was the victim of road rage was being tailgated by the "offenders" buddy. He was forced to speed up to get him off tail. The previous comments are distasteful and unfortunate. Sometime initial reports of an incident do not tell the full story. As always Howard thanks for all of your hard work!!
