Photos: Scenes along Lewiston Road

By Howard B. Owens

There is great beauty to be found in Genesee County, but the best shots can't always be captured from public roads. Once in a while, I see a shot I want, but need to get permission to walk across private property. Today, I drove out to a house on Lewiston Road because I knew there was a barn I liked, also I've been interested in getting the best angle on the shot above. For both pictures, the best shot wouldn't come from the roadside. Fortunately, the landowner was home and kind enough to let me wander around on his property.

Outstanding photography, Howard. Nice composition and color. You should consider publishing a photo book. It would encourage people to move to this area.

Hey Howard...

I like the first photo so much I want to ask your permission to use it for my desktop wallpaper, it looks somuch better than that danged windows one with the surreal grassy field.

Thanks for all of the nice comments. It's always encouraging to get positive feedback.

Content on The Batavian is available for free, non-commercial use.

I just request that people don't make their own prints -- I'll very soon announce an ability on the site for people to buy printed copies of photos.

The top photo is what I posted this morning on <a href="http://vufindr.com">vufindr.com</a&gt;.
