Today's Poll: Do you think the county's real goal is to sell the nursing home?

If it wasn't the Legislature's intent to sell the nursing home, it seems that the home would have been included in the energy efficiency study that the Legislature recently commissioned. If they really want to find ways to make the home run more efficiently, why wasn't it included in the energy study?

Nothing shocking about the results here. A few short months ago, the assistant county manager told us that sale was 'definitely the direction' they were headed in. The fact that they've changed their official tune to align themselves more with public sentiment gives me just a little bit of hope.

When members of the public take it upon themselves to hold their government accountable, good things can happen.

It is not the county government's responsibility to provide nursing home services. When will people stop expecting and depending on the government to take care of them. The nursing home should be sold to a private operator.

Chris i commend you on your efforts to help save the nursing home..I don't agree that it shouldn't be looked into selling it..Thats just my opinion..You were there in support of saving the nursing home ,well most in support of saving were CSEA workers who are probably more worried about losing there jobs..Not for one second do i believe any one who is there will be without care one way or another..Private or county run..I do wish they would do the same and study if we would be better off with a privately run airport also..
