Photos: Tree on West Main Street, Batavia

By Howard B. Owens

Driving down West Main late this morning, I was struck by this stunning tree with its white flowers against the deep-blue sky.

Once again, I have no idea of the name of this type of tree.

I took several photos.

I actually live near one of these trees and I always thought it was the ugliest tree ever...even more when the string bean pod like things come out on it.

My Brother in law and sister have two of these in their front yard in Byron ,and I am sure they would be happy to give them to you. They are pretty and aromatic when they bloom in late spring, but what a mess after that. Those pods drop off as well as the large leaves, and are a full time job in the fall.
