Today's Poll: Can U.S. and Iran relations improve?

By Howard B. Owens
Bob Harker

How can half of the folks voting in this poll have even a SHRED of hope that relations with this rogue nation improve?!?!?! I'm amazed and appalled!

They have vowed to kill us and Israel.

They are close to having nuclear weapons and the delivery systems are already on line.

They are in complete control of Iraq and underwrite the all the terrorism training there.

Somebody please tell me what I am missing here!

I know several Iranians. Yes, relations could improve between the two countries but, not currently with both governments. First, radical islamic government officials need to be removed from Iran's ranks. Second, radical and self-serving politicians need to be removed from our government. Third, the U.S. and Iran need to open honest dialog and understand each other. Until the United States stops acting like the world's police and abusing her power. She will be hard press to open up any meaningful relationships. I understand there are tyrants out there. However, the U.S. should not involve our military to fight someone else's war unless it directly relates to our own security. I.E. Syria is a civil war and does not pose a threat to our national security. Iran is developing nuclear weapons and is a threat not just to our security but, the world's. Look at Eygpt, we got involved not militarily but, politically. Now Eygpt is in chaos again. The Muslim Brotherhood is a radical network. Libya is another failed relationship. Syrian rebels (inwhich many are supporters of terrorism) are hoping to use our military force to work on their behalfs. Why not just arm them with weapons, minus technological upgrades. You want freedom? Well here is a rifle, rocket propelled grenade and IEDs. Have at it.

John, in my opinion, any form of islam is radical, this wannabe world domination religion teaches violence,as well as looking at non-believers as second class creatures to the almighty muslims. Blow Iran off the map, before they get the chance to strike first.
I agree with you to let them kill each other, they seem to do that well, until the good ole USA decides to "help", and give the bastards someone else to target.
Keep in mind that Muhammad was a mass murderer, and good muslims want to be a mirror image of the messenger of Allah.
